They already require you to have an account with SE and log into it every 14 days. They just underestimated the people who would be willing to have multiple characters they pay subs on just to be able to post bait and get around the daily limit.
As someone who was actually on forums in the late 90s and early 2000s, this isn't nearly that bad. It is still pretty outdated by modern standards, though.
+1 to awful and +1 to “ignore completely removing a user from my entire forum experience” option(s).
When the first 2 pages have 1/2 the posts dominated by 1 or 2 users, most of which is garbage troll posts, I just lose interest in even engaging on the forums entirely.
welcome to 1997 lolI never saw any other threads about this, and I wonder if I'm the only one terribly annoyed by how these Forums are bad when it comes to user experience.
Among other things, what bothers me the most is the lack of a live 'feed'* of forum activity (e.g. likes, replies) like literally any other social platform out there. Sometimes I really miss out thread replies because It's really hard to keep track of that, with the only way requiring clicking on the slow-loading profile page to then browse back your recent posts and manually go from there to see what happened.
*edit: As a clarification, by that I mean a notification feature
But then, with the lack of meaningful moderation here, I wouldn't be surprised that they are fine with the platform resembling a relic from the 2000's.
So should SE just covert over to Discord like AGS did?
I really don't like discord, it's a chatroom, not a forum.
Discord's better suited to chatting with a tight knit group of friends.
I agree, but I didn't even think that a game company could make Discord their 'official forums'. That's kinda wild to me.
