    • XIV really needs to do something about their gearing process, it's stale. Gear IMO should also come from V&C dungeons,
    • I don't think it's because they think it works - They probably know it's bad, but they also know for a lot of people it's also a pretty weird treading line because they can also easily upset a lot of players
    • I think it's too ambitious to expect any major/significant changes, really. They are very predictable. It's a nice thought but not realistic. The best the game will get is newer battle content, e.g., a new exploratory zone/system.
    • Eureka/Bozja are the best pieces of content they have released - But they're still largely dominated by a FATE experience. Can call them NMs, or can call them skirmishes, they're still just FATEs - They need to branch further away from this - It gets stale very quickly, with the main reason being in there to get the relic or to level classes, rather than it actually being an unrivalled experience. But each to their own. I've dwelled on this a lot, so my thoughts have been like a yoyo in this regard on the forum.
    • Blue Mage feels so backwards... They designed this class - and marketed it as a solo class, yet the most meaningful streams of content it is placed in are grouped content. It has 1-2 carnival entries every update, which is... Well... Not great. - Don't get me wrong, BLU definitely should be involved in savage, and arguably even further than that. But I don't think it's right to block it off from Deep Dungeon and Eureka/Bozja just cuz OP... Can literally have separate achievements for solo DD on BLU... and well they've already done plenty of work in dungeons, trials, raids, etc., in giving immunities on mobs for certain spells.

Wouldn't know if it can or can't take ideas from Dragonflight, played WoW for a little, didn't like it so stopped playing it... Not to say it's crap or anything, but just found it very boring for me, personally... Would also like to say this doesn't necessarily mean that I think taking ideas from WoW would be bad - For anyone that wants to try and read words that don't exist in my post.

But what I can say, is they do need to realize that content can be more than it already is -- Not necessarily just throw more content streams out there. The game already has a good amount of foundation, but they never really integrate content systems, e.g., logos/essences in Deep Dungeon, or Sightseeing log, and actual crafting/gathering elements in Island Sanctuary.

As someone who have played this game for 10 years, a couple years of GW2 before that, 3-4 years of WoW before, several years of Ultima Online and Dark age of Camelot with a sprinkle of various other MMO from SW:TOR to variety of KMMO ... will all of that have any impact on your opinion at all if I tell you I mostly agree with the poster you're replying to?

Because be honest, you know it doesn't. That was nothing more than a convenience stick you grab to dismiss something you don't agree it. You didn't address or counter a single point that they made, you just wholesale attacking the poster.

Everyone in here has experience or dealt with MMORPGs before in the past and I just wondering where all of this outrage coming from. During the life of MMORPG title, you are going to brilliant and excellent expansions that makes you happy, give you what you want in content and activities that keeps you involved throughout that expansion cycle like Shadowbringers, Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King and then there is the others that might not be up to par to those and sucked, that is always a fact (I remember this same type of talk in Stormblood, I know that BOA/Shadowland blows, and don’t give me started on Heart of Thorns). MMO titles will always have their peaks and plateaus during their lifespan.

I understand that many felt that this expansion did not give you what you want and that is fine because it is your own opinion about it. But that opinion might not be same as my opinion, or Midare’s opinion or anybody else opinion. If you feel like you feel like this game did not give you what you want, then take a breather or two and then come back when new stuff comes up. You are not legally bind to play this game or anything like that. Why is it so hard to just walk away from it for a while until things get better? There is so many good games right now in this market and being struck on one game for a long time can mess you up. I learned that lesson a long time ago with WoW and here for the first five years.

At the end of the day, it is what it is. If you want to post your criticism about this game, go for it. As a customer, you do have the right to write a criticism or your own opinion about it positive or negative but be respectfully about it when other folks talk about it as well.

**My personal take about this, I think you all is going way too fast and trying to completed everything at one go, for example this year I was lucky to get all of my classes to 90 after starting out in Nov 2014 and still have a long way to go but I see everybody getting max level in about month and rushing to get everything at once without taking their time with it. Just take your time and slow it down, don’t play every day (I only playing about 2 – 3 days of week right now), and just smell the roses. That is my opinion. **

Obvious snark/attack posts aside, the argument to "just quit and come back later" is extremely tiring to hear. There's no fruitful discussion on either ends when it's just a shouting match with people's ear duct taped to their own little world.

The positive with the previous expansions was that there was *an option* to grind out things if you wanted to, players were given the choice to put on their running shoes and get on the wheel. HW had diadem 1.0(it was bad, trust me I hated it too), stormblood had eureka and shadowbringers had bozja, they were all relatively accessible content that let players grind out what they wanted, be it for gil, relic, etc. EW has none of that, it doesn't give players that option.

I'm speaking for myself here, but I'm sure other players will resonate that we're not asking for a 24/7 grind, we're asking for something to do. I love this game, really I do but I'm so disheartened by the fact that basically my entire FC has quit(although they're still playing ff11 for some reason), my friends list is getting more and more disparity between those who are online and those who are not. And its all for the same reason, theyre bored and tired of the same formula that offers them no real entertainment value. I'm not asking for a complete wow factor in between patches, but something that'll hold attention for more than just a day or extended further than just doing roulettes and then logging off.

As for the last paragraph, while it is your opinion for players to slow down, your scale/speed doesn't apply to everyone. I also started in Nov 2014, EW released in Dec 2021 and I got all my level 90s in Nov 2022, nearly 1 full year after. To me, that is as casual gameplay as I could do, the only thing I grinded out quickly was leveling my healers for raid.

So I'll ask this for those people who say "just take a break and come back", if your gameplay pace is slow enough that you have a backlog of things to do and are happy with the game, what's wrong with players who are asking for more? It doesn't hurt you in the long run and will just add more things to do. There's no downsides of people being critical and wanting to play, because deep down, they still do care. They're loud because they want to see the game continue to thrive so dismissing their discontent so easily with just "lol take a break" is at worst, just rude and at best, hand-waving.

That was a joke you know, my birthday is next month and I am creeping to that big 5-0 (7 years left) and I can't keep up with you all anymore. I am much happier doing glams and housing than the raiding scene but that is life, in a way.

I swear all this "take a break" stuff yoshi-p said was to calm casual players who didn't want to overcommit, not so they could turn around and dictate to everyone else how they should approach the game.

Ok? What does that have to do at all with anything I said? I never claimed no long time players agree or disagree with the poster, I just said it was weird to enter a community as a fresh face and immediately start demanding everyone silence their grievances. This is a normal social construct that any normal person with a healthy life outside of the internet knows intrinsically. You don't show up to a party and start demanding everyone think like you.

Thanks though, you've proven the exact type of person who does agree with the poster. People who are unnecessarily hostile, make uneducated assumptions, and can't gather basic context from an implicit statement.

I think my favourite glamour system was what I saw in RIFT. If you have had an item in your inventory, it unlocks in your Wardrobe and you can use it any time you wish, regardless of the class you're currently on. Want to make it look like your mage is wearing armor and casting spells using a massive warhammer? Not a problem.

Isn't it interesting those silencers really got their groove after late 2021 ?

FFXIV completes every expansion and each expansion is 100% playable on launch. WoW gives you a very buggy launch that's so bad it is completely unplayable, then after a couple zero content patches, there's an entire year with no content and then it releases a final patch without ANY of the promised content- just a final raid and, "Oh, sorry- we didn't have time to complete the storyline! Maybe next time, suckers!"

    That's how bad WoW is.
