Overhaul the Achievement Point Shop

The achivement point shop was originally just a bandaid.

They'd made the rewards for subscription's take too long to get all of them, so they pulled those out, put them into the achivement points, and then started that over again.

They've once again maxed out how long they are willing to make the subscription rewards take.... and should dump those into the achivement point store again... but they won't.

All kinds of things could end up there, but that would require work from departments that already don't have free time.

Lets face it, people won't start playing again, or start playing, just because that shop has a few more items, and anything less won't make them do it.

Anything would be an improvement, even if it's just recolors of existing mounts, minions, fashion accessories and glamor gear. Dump a whole lot of items there and don't make them all dirt cheap. Something has to cost a large amount, otherwise why do we have some many certificates.

They made achievement points to certificate currency a 50:1 ratio, so 25K points gives you 500 certificates to spend. They only add like 4 certificates worth of rewards every couple of years. What do I do with the hundreds I have remaining?

Honestly I'd just turn it into the nostalgia costume shop. Fill it with glamours of past FF characters or go further and make it costumes of characters from every SE title/franchise. Granted certain ones will likely still end up as either a mogstation purchase or tied to an event. However there's still a huge list of popular characters out there that were not the poster character of their respective games people want glamours for.

Honestly I'd just turn it into the nostalgia costume shop. Fill it with glamours of past FF characters or go further and make it costumes of characters from every SE title/franchise. Granted certain ones will likely still end up as either a mogstation purchase or tied to an event. However there's still a huge list of popular characters out there that were not the poster character of their respective games people want glamours for.

I mean… XIII Attire set(Cash Shop), X attire(FAN FEST EXCLUSIVE BEFORE PUT IN CASH SHOP), and the list goes on. Some of the cash shop items are so old that they could easily sell for a large chunk of points. It’s a matter of managing your balance of course since achievement points are limited.

I'm not sure where your cash shop list "goes on" to, because I don't think there are any other FF-not-XIV character outfits in there.

Character outfits come from a mixture of sources here, not just veteran rewards and the cash shop.

We have Fran's outfit as starter gear, forever locked to female Viera; Balthier's and various Tactics characters/jobs as RNG-dependent loot drops from Orbonne; other FFXII characters freely purchasable from Zadnor; FFIV-inspired Moonward tome gear; Iroha and Noctis outfits from seasonal events that repeat rather than moving to the cash shop. Apparently a number of late Heavensward/Stormblood era gearsets are based on other FF/SE characters as well but I don't have a direct list.

There's a lot they can do with the shop. As I said in the OP, they just need to add things. ANYTHING. Even if it's something stupid. I don't care as long as we can get usage out of the achievement points since it's been dead for years.

Though I think the cloud costume was from Advent Children so it would probably be her outfit from that same movie.

And yeah some characters outfits were turned into gear sets. However there's still a lot of characters that had their own outfit that hasn't been touched. I think most of the cast of FF6 falls in that category.

Let me spend achievement points for Gold and Silver Feathers, so I can get some of those items. Everyone I know who'd be into the game already plays it, so those are all out of reach for me.

Along with this, the Veteran Rank rewards could use another tier… I think I’ve been on 4 for years now. Really they could have used the Iceheart outfit for something like that… it’s just an undyeable reskin with a fancy belt. lol

Achievement tokens are the most underutilized thing in this game IMO.

If you add enough incentive/reward behind it, then you can get people doing the most inane things for rewards - You wouldn't even be funneling people into a single subset of content, you'd be encouraging players to literally do anything. It's nice they added the two Adventurer Plates from Fishing, but... They only cost 2 points, and the requisite for actually unlocking them as an option... Well... You get more achievement tokens from actually unlocking it than is required. It just seems like a bit of a... Farce.

Something like an adventurer plate should cost between 10-20 tokens per, and they should expand it to include trading for Gold Chocobo feathers, in addition to mounts, minions, treasure maps, and fashion accessories... I can only hope that their escapade with the fishing ones was a token and testing the waters, but the future rewards need to cost more and include greater variety.
