Heavensward had flying, Stormblood had swimming and diving. That's kind of where things stopped for new features at an expansion launch. Endwalker had... NPCs following us for some quests.

We could've had a new sailing / seafaring system and use that for some sections of the MSQ but they don't want to put that much resource cost into new systems.
