I really do hope we get get another MH collab now that theres a new MH game in works. Both sides of the collab were very fun with behemoth and rathalos and our New World would certainly be a place to find some random monster.

Hey, I feel seen. I REALLY hope Dragoons don't get the summoner treatment. They'll lose their main job then have people who didn't play it before telling them how great it is now.Dragoon and the new jobs are the end all be all of Job direction imo. If all we see is more of the same trend, it's safe to say we are stuck with the dumbed down homogenous approach to job design that has become customary.
And that sucks. Not for me bc I play BLM, but moreso because of all the people I know who are tired of their classes being destroyed or turned into things they aren't.
A copy paste of Shadowbringers and Endwalker with some half baked attempts at side content and more classes being ruined like Summoner was.
The chaotic in me wants this game to die off just so that everyone would shut the hell up about FFXIV. Prolly one of the worst things to happen to the MMO community with how pretentious people can be; both sides case
I'm super curious as to what kind of narrative themes are gonna be prevalent in Dawntrail. Also cautiously optimistic about its focus on 'group play.'
With EW having the worst content droughts in the game's history, it really is helping players discover other games and they may not return for DT or stay for very long if they do. Unlike previous expansions, EW has had very little hooks to keep you playing and if DT continues the same direction, more and more players will simply drift away. The concept of taking a break to play other games is all fine and good but if you have to do it after every single patch (especially 2 weeks into the patch), there is a design problem as playing other games should only really be needed once and maybe twice per expansion cycle.
I'm not asking for Genshin level of player retention as that will burn out players with high levels of FOMO, but more like what we used to have in the past:
* Exploration zones - playing with lots of people is fun
* Relics - real relics not tome weapons, think HW style. I don't consider the EW relic a relic but a tome weapon, a relic should have some commitment. Also, for the love of the game, please start the relic at 7.0 or 7.1 not 7.3.
* Variant / Criterion dungeons with good rewards, better difficulty tuning and roulettes
* Expert roulettes with more dungeons - why do we have to have only 2, consider keep all of the current expansion experts in the cycle to keep it fresh as having one dungeon in the cycle for 9 months is boring
* Return to a 3 to 3.5 month patch cycle from the 4.5
