Oh man, I remember this video and all of the discussions surrounding it. Fatigue is actually revolutionary, and SE are visionaries! What a brilliant idea! Anyone who hates it clearly just doesn't understand it. The same applies to the market wards.

Fatigue and Armory systems were good ideas on paper. Who knows what could have been had Tanaka had more time.

Alas, those days are nearly two years removed and 2.0 is on the horizon. So long, fatigue.

You can still party with other people while using a level 1 weapon.

Equipping a level 1 weapon doesn't prevent you from playing with other people.

But by using the feature you are suggesting, you won't be able to play with the same people on your chosen class for long. A toggle for slower leveling won't work, either you apply an xp change across the board or not at all. ever heard of this little thing called balanced play? Your suggestion annihilates it.
