    Low FPS?

Should i be having low fps? I am getting inbetween 15-35 fps and i'm getting really laggy play because of the spikes.

    My spec's-
    Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
    Memory: 8192MB RAM
    Available OS Memory: 8184MB RAM
Page File: 7143MB used, 9220MB available
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 v2
    Driver Date/Size: 5/15/2012 06:48:00, 18044224 bytes

Also everything except drawing quality is turned down, that's at standard.

EVEN at the lowest drawing quality i'm getting 18 fps in Ul'Dah...wtf.

That sounds normal for Ul'dah sadly, the fps should be better in other places.

From reading up i've come to realize that the game is extremely CPU intensive. Shit. Hopefully the new graphics engine will fix this...But i get ~30 max outside of Ul'Dah. Sadly it's hard to enjoy this game if i'm lagging horribly all the time.

You'd be surprised how much you get used to it, I hardly even notice it anymore.

It's not even the low fps, it's the fact that there's "frame skipping" or whatever.

yep that happen in ul'dah a lot also it just a matter of how bad the game is in 2.0 this would all be fix due to fact of the new engine and it's wont be a open world anymore it be zones like ffxi so that cut down the lag in each area also.

No, you shouldn't have as poor a framerate as that.

My current specs and settings are:

1920x1080, 4x AA, standard draw quality, high shadow quality, highest texture and texture filtering settings, DoF/AO off.

    Core 2 quad 9450 @ 3.2GHz (OC from 2.67), GTX 460 1GB, 4 GB system RAM.

This setup never(*) puts be below 30 fps in uldah, and keeps me around 40-45 when i'm playing with 2-3 others. Even when my CPU wasn't OCed, i didn't get below 30 fps in uldah.

*) Except the occasional hiccups because the game doesn't seem to properly cache things when large amounts of new stuff suddenly becomes visible on screen
