New begging scam. Beware

I just heard from a friend that someone is going around on a sprout alt pretending to be new to the game and begging in Limsa for glamours or gil. They start with saying in shout chat or Novice Network about how to make gil and asking people why things are so expensive on the market board, then people will help them because they're a sprout. Typically the glamour is something like 250k or something which isn't actually a lot of money, so sometimes people will just buy it or craft it for them. Then they send it to their main and resell it on the market board.

Just beware of people like this, it's a new scam.

A random person doing this once tried to hold the absolute worst organized giveaway with money gained from doing this on the forum. I dont think I've seen them ever since.

Man, this has been around since Runescape. People even made their newbies female characters to add some honey to the pot. And it's not even reportable as a scam because you're willingly giving over goods and money.

Even if it's a genuinely a new player I would never give anything to anyone that beg. I mean ... you just join the game and already start whinning instead of ... idk, try to play and enjoy it? Not sure I would want to enable someone like that.

It took me only roughly a day to get a full set again for "free" as I gathered and crafted my set's up myself. This was WAAAAAAY back before the GE was a thing.
