Hi Guys!

Wow, sorry for all the troubles you are having staying connected. I have checked my emails and I really don't see any announcements coming from the home office. It does seem that more EU customers are facing this than the NA, so I will poke my co-workers in London and let them know of the troubles.

I know that this is no excuse, but as someone pointed out, there are some server weather going on over here in addition to some forest fires in the mid-west, so that could be causing some issues as well.

Again, I am sorry you cannot login and enjoy the game. I will leave this thread in General Discuss, for the time being, but it may be moved to technical in the future.

Hello Senior Game Master Jhanaka!

Has this issue been followed or even noticed? Me and some other players have been having severe connection issues on Saturday (July 7th) and today (July 9th). Players have been kicked out from the game and unable to connect the servers (also the Lodestone site) properly for hours.

Here is a thread on Technical Support forums with traceips and other information.

I really hope this issue will be investigated and we will hear back from you!

Ah nice to know that this is getting some attention. I realize that this appears to happen to the EU players more than the NA players, but I hope that you guys look at the NA players as well.

My sis and I play FFXIV and we've been getting D/C and server errors, I've lost count of how many allowances I've used to retrying leaves. =_=;

I don't think it's our internet but any information to as to why this keeps happening would be helpful.

FYI, I am getting the same problems and am in NA. I can say that the disconnections happen more frequently depending on what I'm doing. I can fish at Bald Knoll for hours without getting disconnected, but every other run in AV and CC will get me a DC, and I have found myself getting DC at very specific parts of certain maps. I have to decline raids from my LS's now because of the DC problems. I want my Darklight! T_T

well, I don't think is something weather related.... I play from Italy and since January I have this issue. Sometimes is ok, sometimes is unplayable... and when it is unplayable it really is annoying: dc every minute or so.

Please let us know something soon.... funny thing is that 30002 dc threads are all over the Technical Help Forum and never get replied. They do here <laugh>

It has been really bad the past few days, it's a little eased up today compared to yesterday for me but still an annoying occurrence =P

Well least they are fully aware of it and looking into it which I and the other players experiencing this really do appreciate Jhanaka. Hopefully there will be a fix for this if possible around 1.23, and if it's an issue that can't be fixed prior to 2.0 then I hope it's announced that it's an issue they can't fully resolve yet but are working on it. ^^;

I've been having this issue every night for the past week or so. I always happens around 8:00-8:30 (Central Time) and for the rest of the night the game is almost unplayable. It usually stops by the next morning and it has happened to me randomly through out the day. Its not that bad during the day however. Like op i have alraedy ruled out it being my router/modem/isp.

its a regional issue from SE's end, depending on the day of the week. seriously. i can stay logged in for 4 days straight and not dc once, doing stuff, afk'ing in ul'dah, whatever. then randomly one day i will dc and cant stay connected for more than 10min at a time, sometimes, no matter what i do. restart connections, pc, anything. ls members are all having the same issues. its entirely regional, and entirely on SE's end.

the biggest, most annoying thing about it is...
gotta wait till 2.0 new server system.
they wont touch it till then. and im really tired of hearing that excuse myself. "it'll be fixed in 2.0"

This is from the 2.0 Main Document.

Among our new plans is the fundamental reworking of in-game maps. As part of this process, there will be a period required for switching over to a new client and new servers, after which there will be a large transfer of data when service is brought back online.

This was in the 2.0 Outline pdf

1. A complete redesign of current repetitive maps
2. The implementation of a new graphics engine
3. A new server system designed for increased speed and performance
4. A fully renewed user interface
5. The expansion of in-game community content

As you can see SE has stated in a few places the server system is being replaced. I'm surprised more things don't cause disconnects as they are obviously quite unstable and have been since launch. Look what happened when they threw in the inns. They can't put certain features in because of said problems, which has been stated multiple times on the forums when asked why there is no mail system or better markets/AH ,etc and to wait until 2.0 to see what happens.
Yes we all know waiting until 2.0 is a pain....It really annoys me as well, but I signed on knowing the game was gonna be like this until then.
