Hairstyle dilemma and suggestion for a possible hairstyle system update

I have come to find the selection to good hairstyles in the game very lacking as of late, and I feel like the system is in sorely need for an Update. I have no doubt that there are other people who are in my boat and feel like me on this topic, and there might be some who probably may be willing to help in finding/selecting a new hairstyle for my character that actually looks good and fits, for as of now in my humble opinion there a very few hairstyles that fits and look great as most have some flaws in them.


Short explanation on my situation:
Ever since I created my Miqo'te character I've had the same hairstyle albeit in different hair colours until quite recently, as it's the only one I'm mostly happy with, the standard braided one that became Fourchenault Leveilleurs hairstyle.




But after years it's started to feel old and outdated and I am now starting to try out a new one: 'Modern Aesthetics - Practical Ponytails' as I like the front of that hairstyle, but I'm really struggling to get used to the back part of the hair. It's sitting far higher up in the back then I would have liked, and the hair sort of seems thin by the knot. Not to mention that the hair crossing with the Miqo'te ears look somewhat wrong, and to smooth sidewise making it look like a painted rubber swim cap rather then... well hair.






I have also been eyeing the other hairstyle: 'Modern Aesthetics - Adventure' as well, as I tend to like the style with the hair over one shoulder like this have, but that hairstyle have a horrible problem with the front part with the split in the middle bangs. It just don't fit my character at all...





Suggestion to a possible system solution for this problem:
And there in comes a suggestion of alteration that the hairstyle system could benefit from without revamping the entire system that is in place now.
What if we could get to a point where hairstyles can be split into 2 separate sections, one front part and one back part. That way we could mix and match up the hairstyles we have available and unlocked to make our characters look even more unique then they do now. We could also still have the 'Modern Aesthetics' books unlocking new full hairstyles, but instead of only getting one full hairstyle you could get to choose to either have the full hairstyle or mix the new front/back one with an old back/front one you liked more. And when it comes to hats they, like today, overrule how most of the hairstyle is visible, for example where you don't get the back part of the hair:




If anyone have other suggestions let's discuss them too.

Don't really mind most of these issues. I just take issue with the fact that most hairstyles clip really badly.

From my own personal experience, I have a lot of different accessories and hats that I enjoy using, but because the majority of hairstyles suck I can't use them. My main character uses the same hairstyle that the character I attached to my forum account uses because a lot of new hairstyles have clipping issues. Both island sanctuary hairstyles are good examples but basically half the hairstyles in-game have the issues too.

They should stop banning the ones creating hair mods and bring them on staff they can pull off ass length hairstyles with zero clipping

Hmm, thanks for the advice! I guess now is the time to buy it from the store and test it out considering it's on sale at the moment. I have been hesitant to buy it as the over the shoulder part have looked quite thin in most pictures I've seen, and the bangs part is a little short.

As for the twintails, I don't really feel like it fits my character that well as I feel like because she has scars on her face she would try and hide them with as long bangs as possible, I tend to use headgear that does it for her but now I'm levelling dancer and thought the flower looked nice on her, hence the band-aid over her nose. But I agree it looks quite cute and it fits lalafells alot, I have it coloured pink on a alt-character for meme shenanigans.

Is there a place where I can see the styles that will be added?

When it comes to hairstyles, I feel like Square is in need of an update on how they do things here. And considering there are a lot of people risking bans to use mods for new hair designs, I'd say they would be wise to take inn the people who are so passionate about it that they created those mods to help the playerbase get the looks they want. It'd be a win-win in my books, Square would not condone modding but they would take advantage of the people who may have found a solution to a lot of good hairstyles.

That is true, there is a lot of hairstyles that do clip badly
Which is also why I feel like if we had an update to the system splitting hairstyles into 2 sections we could all choose the front and separate back part that would fit the outfits we would want to wear and therefore also have the chance to remove the clipping problem on glamours.

From my own personal experience, I have a lot of different accessories and hats that I enjoy using, but because the majority of hairstyles suck I can't use them. My main character uses the same hairstyle that the character I attached to my forum account uses because a lot of new hairstyles have clipping issues. Both island sanctuary hairstyles are good examples but basically half the hairstyles in-game have the issues too.

That's why I used the braided style for soooo long, as I felt it both had the length of bangs I would want for my character and no harsh clipping on outfits in the back. But I did find a mask though that I use when playing on my main job BLM, the 'Beech Mask of Casting' one. While the bangs do clip the mask, it makes it look more like a mask feature then hair-clipping.

Oh, that is sad I would have loved to see the different entries. Are you sure then that there will be 30 sets added, or will it be only 1 out of the 30?

Oh that's not that far away! Months tend to fly by for me, before I know it it's jul-time
