How to get Max GP? (Help me)

I feel like I'm going a bit crazy. I keep seeing guides tell me that I should have no problems getting to 900+ GP with lvl 90 gear, but with a full afflatus accessory set I'm still only at 879. I've even melded materia to things for more! As far as I can find these are the highest level gathering accessories out right now, so, what am I doing wrong?

PLEASE tell me my silly mistake, I am BEGGING. It's taking me ages to gather for the splendorous tools and I hate it, please.

Are you using gathering food as well? I'm no gatherer, but food can be a potential big help

If I remember correctly, the FSH job has a perk of extra GP due to the fixed bonus of the Spearfishing Gig of +35 GP, while the other off-hands for MIN and BTN L90 BIS are like +9 GP soft-cap, and if you can meld GP to those you can't reach +35.
So the FSH always has a bit more GP than the other two DoL jobs, even if all are same level, all slot BIS, and GP melded.

Afflatus may have the highest ilvl but it's not as good as pentamelded HQ Indagator's gear, which offers you a lot more flexibility in the stats you choose.

Still reaching 900 GP with a full set of Afflatus gear isn't that difficult. The full set before food and melding is 820 GP. Using HQ Yakow Moussaka brings that to 875 so you only need to get an additional 25 GP from accessories. If you're using the Crystalline Pickaxe/Hatchet instead of the Afflatus, you'll automatically have 9 more GP reducing what you need to add to 16.

I don't know what Gathering and Perception are needed/recommended for the Splendorous gathering since I haven't bothered to work on the relic tools yet. If the requirements are higher than what you can achieve through the remaining materia sockets on the Afflatus gear, you'll want to substitute a couple of piece of HQ Indagator for the Afflatus for the additional melding.

If you have anything equipped other than Afflatus or HQ Indagator, that would be the source of the problem. You need to get those upgraded. When guides say there should be no problem using level 90 gear (or whatever level), they're assuming you're using the most current gear and not gear from the start of the expansion.
