Get rid of all aetherytes and flying

You heard me, get rid of all aetherytes. Even the ones inside major city hubs. Best way for FFXIV to feel like a lived in world and an MMO is to force players to have to travel on foot and use their mounts as the only way to get to places faster. Also make overworld mobs be really aggressive and hard to intice players to be in parties for safety and if theyre not overleveled or are not skilled enough to evade multiple mobs.

Add in airships and boats to travel to most major hubs and have it be on a schedule and also a place where players hang around and interact on the ride and even fish or play some minigames to pass the time.

Kinda half kidding with this because obviously most people would just hate this but to be honest at this point I think FFXIV could use with some QoL prunning (not counting QoL UI ofcourse) if we want for the game to be fun and exciting to play. At least for me

I can agree that some "QoL" pruning is a good idea, not sure about taking the game back FFXI or 1.0 levels of travel sim though. Would make doing anything take inordinately long.

I would like having just the main aethrytes in cities and travel on foot and airship/boat like in ff11. Traveling on scenic boat/airship rides in ff11 where you could see the world and it last 10 minutes was enjoyable.

I support this, but we really need to add in an underground tram system connecting Gridania, Ul'Dah, and Limsa Lomina together.

Just leave in slow automated flight paths between major locations. Just like in Vanilla WoW!

Boat rides that can have monsters spawn capable of killing high lvl players so we can watch all the bodies get tossed off when it docks lol.

Also FFXI's main city airship travel was better than FFXIV's IMO because of the way you got to essentially see the world from high in the sky as it travelled. Though FFXI's airships were also a whole lot bigger.

Honestly I feel like just about every open world game made in more recent years has drastically overused fast travel systems.

They can add airship and boat rides as optional things for those who want that experience. I already did my time in games that had that and no thank you.
