I seriously wouldn't mind if they removed PLing from the game, it makes people quit in the long run anyways so why have it?
Unless it is done like in Aion, where you can pay to get it back, or EverQuest II where it regenerates over a period of time, I am against this. It will foster an environment where some people will be afraid to explore or take any chances. Possibly not even do dungeons unless they are several levels over it where it's easy. Doesn't sound very hardcore, does it?
What I view as hardcore: Requiring skill and strategy, NOT a stupid punishment for failure.
(And about the Everquest II and Aion death penalty, I'm neutral on it since you can get it back at least. I still don't like it, just a point of reference.)
Rise Against - TorchesThe angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting
Just a thought that came to my head and is less a global death penalty and more of a Penalty for deaths in certain content. They could setup a penalty where if x number of deaths occur in a dungeon/etc a powerful shade/ascian comes to reap you for cheating death so many times and if you wipe against him you get auto kicked from the area.
Well perhaps I should have specified that I wanted certain things to change on 2.0. That's why I specified the "2.0".Coming from someone who Powerlevels, this is meaningless. I know plenty of people, myself included who enjoyed the journey and I am helping quite a few people on their own journey and they are enjoying it.
And there is where you draw the line between FFXIV and FFXI. In XIV you have options, in XI you don't. I like it how it is, the devs like it how it is, most people like it how it is. Open to your own playstyle.
Who's to say that the end game is the bad part? I've become intensely bored with end game to the point that I only really do it if someone needs an extra person. It's all point of view and also, you're not arguing for your point here. Why would you add deleveling if leveling is shallow in the first place?
Also, to your earlier insinuation that I don't play as much as you do, you really should do some fact checking.
While I don't like the fact that PLing is possible right now, it would be foolish not to take advantage of such a shortcut like that. Everybody is doing it and if they don't, well it's up to you if you want to waste more hours with solo content. I'm more up for social/interactive content.
What I would be proposing is both deleveling + harder to level up + require mandatory EXP parties beyond lvl 10 to level up + impossible to solo beyond lvl 10 + impossible to PL.
De-level was one of the worst ideas ever implemented in a MMORPG. Please leave it where it is and move forward.

Well then be more clear in your OP next time?Well perhaps I should have specified that I wanted certain things to change on 2.0. That's why I specified the "2.0".

That's a very radical change as opposed to the "give me XI-2 so i can harcore player" you originally posted that's been the bane of this forum since they announced jobs.
Also, I still disagree with you on most points.
OH, btw don't complain about something you take advantage of.

Dying should have a better punishment then what we have now... I'm not scared of dying and risking because there is notting that I can't solve with some gil... I love the exp loss Idea and d-lvling it gives respect to what you do ingame, but I knw the current community will disagree with me, but the current punishment is not good enought....
How about if you die, your character is deleted? That's scary enough.
