    I think the OP either doesn't know or is forgetting that at 50, your exp doesn't cap out at max exp like in XI. You literally stop gaining exp once you hit 50, so if this game did have exp loss anyone who died would immediately delevel to 49. I can see how this would be a huge problem for a lot of events.

    Yoshida doesn't want to punish players The days of Tanaka are over. Go play Tanaka's game if you want that.

    That anyone ever in the entire world has this opinion is completely and utterly shocking to me. Deleveling is probably the worst mechanic ever. If you're going to die and fail at something anyway you should not be further punished by losing experience points that you had to spend time earning. Maybe every time you die SE should randomly just delete an item in your character's inventory and in really rare cases the entire character - wouldn't that be cool!?

    Why not add it? It might appease these 'leveling is too easy' folks. The fact is, even if you could de-level in this game from death, who cares? Leveling is so easy, you could get it back in no time at all! Might add at least a little bit of fright when dying, but it won't be like FF11 and be followed by complete despair when you realize it will take at least a whole day or two to get it all back.

    Not everyone enjoys leveling constantly. I level with purpose to cap....no, I don't PL etc. but still, I don't enjoy grinding for grinding's sake. Heck I don't even like SBing as it is basically leveling, without progress. And as to the whole 'exp is easy to get' yeah, maybe when we're at level 50 this is true...but at level 75?, 100?...oh and we can't even earn a buffer atm...so you die once, you de-level to 49...making most of your gear worthless.

    While we are at it why don't they add a "Real Money Auction House" as well. That would appease the RMT and make it legit and would probably make the elitest have even bigger e-peens.

    Screw adding features that would appease a few for the simple sake of making them happy, if SE is going to spend time and money on adding features to the game it needs to be respected by the mass majority of players. I much rather them spend their time on something worth adding not a dated feature that a few liked.

    Even without deleveling a lot of people seem to be scared to death to try some stuff (read Garuda) because they think they'll die. I can't even imagine how it'd be if now we started losing exp on death like in XI.

    When was FFXIV ever FFXI?
    FFXIV didn't have any deleveling in first place so there is no bring back in first place.
    FFXI is FFXI, FFXIV is FFXIV.

    It's alright to suggest features from FFXI but saying to BRING BACK something when it wasn't even in it in the first place is wrong way of asking something to be implemented.

    Personally though... Want deleveling? You can always go back and play FFXI again

    + YoshiP already said that's old school MMO and he needs to move along with newer generations so not gonna happen anyways.

    You should ask that upon death you have to create a new character, because the one you had with Darklight armor and relic weapon, just died....that would be scary

    My quick 2 cents~

    I hate this idea. I spend a lot of time teaching new players Ifrit, Moogle, Darkhold, etc. And since these are new players, its doesnt always go so well. XD Which I dont mind! I like the excitement of the fight being challenging because the players are new! And seeing them get all excited when they win for the first time or get their first Ifrit weapon, I just love it! It breaths new life into old content. Having beat these primals more times than I can count with pros, its refreshing to play with the newbies! ^.^

    If the game had deleveling, I would be much less likely to help the new players for fear of losing levels from the inevitable deaths associated with people learning these fights. Deleveling would further separate the veteran players from the new players.
