    What kinds of content do people want to see?

    So there are a lot of complaints of various sorts here about various things, but it's often very...ad hoc (and frequently contaminated by trolls). So let's slim that down with a thought experiment.

    Suppose (a) we keep all the content we have right now (so no "Expert roulette is now Savage level" stuff, but we COULD add a new "Savage roulette") and (b) we keep the general systems in place (so no "they completely rewrite the netcode so PvP is more responsive") type stuff. That is, given the game we have now, without taking away from it, so that all the stuff that exists and is enjoyed now is retained:

    What content do we currently not have that you want to see added to it?

    [For my part, I think every expansion should have a Bozja/Eureka for people to burn downtime in, especially with 2 week longer patch cycles.]

    I want more engaging relic content that starts from the x.0 patch instead of x.2 of an expansion. It doesn't necessarily have to be a new exploration zone, although that would be fantastic, but that boring ass tomestone hand in we've got right now is incredibly uninspired. It really does make me think SE have been draining money and resources out of XIV to make literally thing else... especially the stuff that flops when XIV players carry the companies financials and just want a bit more love.

    Eureka/Bozja type area.

    Savage roulette would be great, if it was fixed which one it landed on each day or week so that there is time for players to brush up on mechanics for old fights. It could be like how PvP is on a cycle. But SE hasn't even done this for extreme (beside Mentor Roulette) or minimum item level normal content.

    Off the top of my head:

    Unreal should be expanded to Savage. The game has a backlog of excellent encounter designs that are simply collecting dust. Syncing them isn't really adequate or incentivized.

    Variant/Criterion style systems should be improved and expanded. Introduce a weekly bounty system that rotates through various routes each week. Introduce internal progression to this system via something like content specific gear and logos actions, and design the various routes to incentivize the use of varied loadouts. This content would be a good spot to stick catch-up gear with a unique appearance.

    Ultimate should be adjusted to release alongside the first and final raid tier of an expansion, instead of the first and second.

    Field content ala Bozja/Eureka should return, ideally as a combination of the best things learned from both. Personally I would like to see a return of the danger and sense of progression from Eureka, but with the better designed Bozja style boss encounters and duties.

    What I would give to have a new area with the beauty, danger and level progression of eureka, but the volume of large scale raids and bosses that Bozja has also with it’s more intuitive and useful lost action system, that area would be perfect, add in a long term totally optional grind (like how Bozja had the emblazoned) and you could hold half the playerbase there for a year with minimal complaints

    Cross-DC party finder probably a higher priority before some other QOL stuff.

    For the "Japan DC players don't want OCE" complaint...
    They could make duty finder a manual opt-in/opt-out for playing with <traveler>'d players. Stick a checkbox in the same window as the unsync option. Along with adding a party finder window filter for said <traveler> label as well.

    More Variant and Criterion Dungeon type of Content, where they could make some unique encounters.
    More Healer and Tank Responsibilities so that its not boring to be a tank, and so that Healers have more challenges that require them to be...yknow, freaking Healers, and not Green DPS.
    Even as Extra Side Content, Raids and Trials with interesting, maybe interactive encounters. I made a thread about how some Guildheist stuff isnt applied and they could be applied in more interesting High-End content. I just think Battles in General need a Shake-Up, I like them as is, but I also want Different Encounters on the side

    And I dont know how, but I want PvP to be better, and not just another roulette I do so I get Tomes.
    I want it to be fun somehow. And also have more rewards to it, and not just hide the cool stuff behind The Feast which few people even do.

    I'm not sure if people consider my thoughts "content", but I do.

    - I want a way to level alt jobs with a story. Whether that means newgame+ with xp, or something else, I don't know.

    - Instanced housing. I think it's time to redo the housing system and allow unlimited wards so everyone can have a small/medium/large house if they can afford it. No more shackling subscriptions to housing. It's encouraging unhealthy behaviours.

    - Expanded non-combat content (fishing, chocobo racing, cards, something) that isn't hidden behind a bunch of confusing systems, or overly complex for how simple it should be (IS, I'm looking at you). and don't just abandon it please.

    - a grind for the grinders that like Eureka style. It's not for me, but a lot of people seem to like it.

    - relics that aren't simply a grind for 'x', or "do 'y' a million times". Some grand quest that involves a bunch of things, but isn't just a grind in disguise. It doesn't all have to be combat content.
