I would like to have the exploratory content back and make it a centerpiece of each expansion. I would also like to see SE give us reasons to go out into the overworld at level cap beyond hunt trains. I would like to see either large scale events randomly pop up in the overworld like more in depth fates or large fate chains with a chance at decent rewards like cosmetics or mounts to encourage players to continue to do them. Make them give massive exp or gil if at level cap to provide additional encouragement for players to do things beyond spamming dungeons to level up. I would also like to see optional dungeons make a comeback to boost up expert roulette to be more than the same two dungeons for 5 months and give us some more side stories to chew on as well. I wish seasonal events would have different events tied to them with lower drop rate things coming from the events to encourage continual participation instead of spending 30 mins-1 hour to knock out the quest and be completely done with the event. Just a few ideas.

Hamlet defense. I want more reasons to run around in the open world and something like this would be really fun. If areas within zones aren't frequently defended than that area becomes more dangerous, you lose access to certain venders, etc. But the rewards for defending these areas would be worth the effort. Like, do it enough times and you could unlock a mount, a cool cosmetic weapon, etc...

I would like more to be done with islands like adding a private house to the island. Maybe make free company islands for the entire FC to work on projects.

Add in a two-team castle wars type of PVP, that would fix a lot. I would like it if they did a lot more with the open world, maybe like if you complete a questline with the region that only takes place in the open world, that you unlock hidden areas. I would Love if they added questlines that are only for the selective area that actually change the environment, like adding buildings and newer monsters for those that complete the questline. Add random treasure drops to monsters like how it was in ffxi that we could enter a code best on hints to get things.

Seriosely add in beastmaster like blue mage so we can tame other companions and do more with the companions and gc, add in boats that we can sail and fight on

    - More reasons to engage with the zones in the world. The FATE system is a good idea but it's always just "kill 20 mobs that just spawned." Perhaps they could expand the system into more interesting activities for people to do. Of course people would probably whine about FATEs taking longer to grind gemstones, so perhaps add a new separate Event-FATE type or something with its own rewards.

    - Possibly a new exploratory zone if it's more engaging than the previous ones.

    - Blue Mage Battle Royale, and more PvP content in general.

    - CHEMIST

    - Reiterate on the Deep Dungeon formula. Instead of making more PotD clones, just reiterate on one and keep building off of it in future patches/expansions by adding more floors, mechanics, rewards and so on. It would be really neat to see DDs get their own system to make it feel more like a roguelike or a proper mystery dungeon.

    - Knock Savage off its throne already. Endgame content desperately needs some variety and horizontal progression, whether it be by introducing old Savages at the level cap in the style of an Unreal, or by introducing V/C as a full fledged sister-series, I would be fine with either so long as they actually mix up the stale gearing formula. I've said this before a few months back so I'll say it again: variety within content is healthier for a game's balance. If we actually get combat content to be more than just boss fights in a circle/square room then it could necessitate job design to be diverse and interesting again.

    - A relic series worth giving a damn, preferably tied to an exploratory zone but future-proofed better than Bozja. I don't think I should elaborate considering literally everyone else is saying this.

Some changes to BLU like making it the same lvl cap as all other jobs, letting it queue duties with no set role composition like deep dungeons/eureka/bozja, adding craftable sticks made from trial/raid materials, have sticks provide bonuses to specific spells/elements/spell types/spell families/etc based on what boss it was modeled from.

A new exploratory zone linked to some kind of long term content.

Delete easy mode from solo MSQ duties so ppl actually learn to do mechanics.

More interesting dungeon designs in general instead of these reskinned cookie cutters.

Adding item rewards from those pvp season pass things to the vendor after the season ends (albeit with a rather high crystal cost)

More FF nostalgia character glamour outfits added to achievement vendor (honestly think this should be where they appear outside of event specific ones)

Instanced housing but not in any of the existing neighborhood style zones. Have it be somewhere like Sea of Clouds, Ruby Sea, or maybe an airship that starts rather basic but through pouring large amounts of gil into galrond ironworks on expansions and upgrades to eventually become a flying mansion. Basically make the instanced housing exist in an area where it makes more sense that the home would be isolated.

Overworld overhaul. It really needs something to give players more of a reason to still visit most areas of the overworld as it mostly feels like unused resources once ppl get past the part of the story that uses it.

Return focus on making each job actually feel like they have their own identity instead of gutting and homogenizing them simply because ppl made a raid meta.

A new tiny race so those of us that like small/tiny characters have an option that isn't a potato with teeth.

I'd be content if we went back to 2 dungeons per patch. Not very creative of me, but since I roulette a lot I'd rather have 4 than 2 every 9 months.

Hmm I think I got some idea cooking in my mind right now:

A new pvp mode, but with a twist.

Frontlines + Random Monster Encounters + Objectives all mixed in.

Same number of players like Frontlines.

There is random powerful monsters with various abilities that can randomly spawn and create havoc for players while doing the objective, monsters can be weak or strong against certain jobs (so if it was a Giant Wraith its weak against Healers)

The Objective is capturing a object and bringing back to base while avoiding monsters and other players.

The point of the monsters is to make sure enemy players don't try to make parties at various spots to prevent unfair advantages against the object holder.

Even just something as simple as a daily Roulette bonus with tomestones or something could drive up interest.

Another similar idea I think could have potential, is if they could create a dungeon with randomized bosses. Like, take every dungeon boss in the game, scale them up to max level, and randomly select three of them as the dungeon bosses each run. Steal from the "Deep Dungeon" system and have modular dungeon routes, treasure chests with randomized goodies inside, or keys you need to progress. Take a page from Guild Wars 2's "Fractals" and have tiers of increasing difficulty with a quasi "gear grind" -- like, you need to keep enhancing yourself to be able to survive and do enough damage for each tier, but that power creep only applies within that dungeon content.
    I love this idea.

I was thinking though they could take a page from Final Fantasy the PSP version, specifically the Labyrinth of Time - Chronodia's Dungeon.

Basically import the idea how that worked in that game, and make a FFXIV version of it.

Would be a fun excuse to include the original Four Fiends (Lich, Marilith, Kraken, Tiamat and finally Chronodia as the final boss of the deep-like dungeon).

And it would make it the first Dungeon of this game to actually have some complex puzzles while your warping from floor to floor.

Once you complete all the paths in the Labyrinth of time and all of Chronodia's Forms you'll fight Chaos as the true final boss of that deep-like dungeon.

Luckily Chaos is already in this game.
