The FF14 approach was to copy the top MMO then never ever make any changes to that formula.Like every MMORPG at the time, it tried to copy the top MMORPG. But there were certain things done differently, in part because of Yoshi-P's experiences with playing MMORPGs, in part because of it being a Final Fantasy game and wanting to make it story-driven, in part because of needing it to work on PS3 and learn from 1.0s lack of loading screens, and in part because of the hardware or engine or their ability to make it work quite the same.
And it just diverged after that and wasn't afraid to learn from its own mistakes and improve them in a way that was uniquely logical for FFXIV rather than copying every WoW patch. Although I do think comparisons could be drawn between Eureka/Bozja's Logos/Lost Actions and what WoW was doing with attacks that were unique to a given expansion, so they may have taken some inspiration still.
One of the reasons I am glad for streamers is that I can watch them play Starfield, realize the game isn't for me, and save myself some money. I am pretty indifferent on Bethesda stuff as I have only played Skyrim and was kinda meh to the whole thing.

The only reason I'll be playing it is that I can play it for "free" through the Xbox Game Pass for PC. Don't need a console or anything. I've been subscribed for a couple of months now, so this will be a nice way to see what's what. I will probably enjoy it well enough, but the real fun will begin when the modders begin their work in earnest. If it's worth purchasing, I will do so at a later date.
What the heck is Starfield?
I'm playing a fantasy game, not Eve Online. Or is Starfield more like No Man's Sky?
Either way, there are other games like Starfield. I don't play them. Why would I want one of the games I do play to be more like games that I don't play and don't enjoy?
.
EDIT:
You did beat the troll to the punch and made a mockery of the concept of FFXIV vs non-MMO, and for that, I salute you.
As for RPR glamours...hm...honestly, that's not a bad question. Cryptlurker gear?

I just think it's neat that Bethesda is still making PS3 games

Pandaemonium 1-4 gear looks cool on maiming if you can get the dyable version or work around the base colors, other notable mention is the 87 dungeon gear, and Gaia atire if female character I suppose
Was going to jokingly comment that all of starfields animations look dated and the dialog animations (or should I say the....B tier cutscenes) looks more stilted then what FF14/16 does in a game that's taken years to make with a bigger studio....and more funding lol but hey we shouldn't be petty to the trolls :PWhat the heck is Starfield?

To the OP: You mean that FFXIV should require players to purchase SSD or nVME storage before they can play the game?
Or, maybe, FFXIV should become a Space Exploration single player game?
