Why can't FFXIV be more like Starfield

Starfield has a beta guys and people are playing it like BG3 and other games so FFXIV must be dying blah blah blah

OH NOE, NEW VIDEOGAME EXISTANT, AND PEOPLE ARE PLAYING IT AND NOTE SINKING ENTIRE LIFE INTO FFXIV.
IF PLAY ANY OTHER GAME THEN FFXIV GAME IS DEAD

The game does look interesting. Still trying to not get Filtered Out by Armored Core VI. But maybe in the future Ill get Starfield. Perhaps ill add it to my PS5 Game list when I get my PS5 this Fall

It does look interesting but my big negative is a world and game that massive and explorative (if the final product is true to the claims) kinda feels to me empty if i can't enjoy it with others. this is why is would still put NMS above it soly because despite all NMS did wrong i can be with friends doing stuff vs solo. Once the modders get ahold of it tho and make a multiplayer mod i might find it far better depending on how well it works.

NMS won't be toppled by Starfield in any way. It's a great game. Even while solo, they do a great job of making the universe and its planets feel alive.

well now yes i agree NMS is a hard game to top but comparing release to release i mean it was meme'd No Man's Lie for like a year. I just can't play games like NMS or Starfield solo i get bored doing it all alone its why i never finished Subnautica (i know it has a mod but at the time i refunded it i didn't look into it enough) While a beautiful, fun and explorative game solo just means i get bored faster.

Mileage will vary depending on the individual. Personally, I thrive on going solo, though I'm not opposed to playing with friends if given the opportunity.

Great idea to compare a singleplayer game to a MMO. however ff14 need some juice to be better spot because the game is suffering of becoming a bad game.

I don’t intend on playing Starfield any time soon. Maybe down the road in a year or two if I have time. Bugfixes and extras should be out too by then. I also like to mod these games and the knowledge base and tools become more sophisticated with time.

completely fair point, also Bethesda mod community is amazing at times so if you wait there will probably be some very impressive mods out for the game.

yup and I like to mod them myself too. Another thing with Bethesda’s games is that they release the expansions when I am done with the game so I never get to play them…I never feel like restarting such a long game. I will just wait this time. I am no longer at the age where I feel the need to get things on day 1.

that is fair and understandable cuz sometimes Bethesda expansion stories are better than the main ones, like imo i love Oblivion but the Shivering Isles expansion story was soooooo good imo it made the Oblivion storyline look worse. Honestly i still like it over Skyrim story as well.
