    Question regarding hitting Level 90

I just last night hit Level 90 on my first job, Dragoon. First off, I just want to say that I've had a blast so far! But I still have so very much I want to do in the game - and I will.

To my question. I have not yet completed the Endwalker MSQ in its entirety. Looking at where I am at currently, and the remaining Level 85-89 MSQ quests remaining, it looks like I have roughly 18 million XP left. Which at this point is roughly two levels of XP, from 88-90. Sounds like a lot, but it really isn't, IMO.

I knew for a while that I'd hit 90 before finishing the MSQ. I'd contemplated pausing my MSQ progress until I get a second combat job high enough to switch over. My next highest job right now is a Level 80 Black Mage, which I've been mainly leveling through Trusts.

But, after consideration, my inclination right now is just to go ahead and finish the Endwalker MSQ as my Dragoon and not worry about it. I do still need to do the last role quests with DRG as well. It just feels right. Yes, I'm essentially leaving that 18 mil XP on the table, but it's really not worth worrying about.

Is there any downside to that? I can't find one but this is new to me, so I thought I would ask. Thanks!

Experience is easy to get in this game, really, so I wouldn't worry about it.

A lot of people will say "level another job alongside the MSQ because it gives so much experience", but this ends up making you stress over pausing the MSQ to level another job to the MSQ level, and remembering to switch, instead of just enjoying the story and having fun.

In other news, there is no technical debt from 1.0.
"We don't have ... a technological issue that was carried over from 1.0, because ARR was meant to kind of discard what we had from 1.0 and rebuild it from the engine."

No, that XP is a drop in the bucket over the long run, just keep playing what you enjoy through to the end of EW. I mean you will "always" get some additional stuff from being a completionist like NPCs referencing your other jobs and completing various job/role quests etc but I wouldn't curtail my fun just to pick up a few lines of dialogue derived from Heavensward when you're so far along. Keep on enjoying yourself.

The potential EXP is absolutely not worth worrying about; there are so many other ways to gain EXP in the game. Please follow your bliss and continue the story with your mighty Dragoon!

I wish they did the WoW thing and convert a portion of the XP lost due to being capped and made it into a boost of currency.

So even at max level I was hunting down side quests and finishing them just for some fat stacks.

Just finish the MSQ. There's plenty of ways to get exp outside of the MSQ, like roulettes/beast tribe dailies/etc.

No, not really. There's numerous options for XPing beyond MSQ.

Frontline is easy XP. Arkadasora Tribe quests give really nice XP. There's a ton of side quests you can do. There's also Bozja which still gives full XP despite the level 80 synch.

Other than wasting those 18 mil XP, there is no real downside to that, and there are always more xp you can get anyway.

The practical consequence is that it will take a little bit longer to level up your other jobs. Which is not a big deal.

Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate it - and also the tips on alternate sources of XP.

I'm going to finish the MSQ as a Dragoon.
