Agreed. To be honest, whilst I can somewhat tolerate it here, the game I played prior to this one was very strongly committed to this business model - arguably worse in that game's case as the reward was a limited-time 'event only' item, thus prompting more of a FOMO mindset in players who couldn't tolerate the idea of never being able to obtain said reward.
It can at least be said that the 'grind rewards' here don't seem to actually disappear after a relatively short set period of time.

Eitherway, I'm not really a fan of 'circular feedback loops' - as they (in a sense) coerce players into a specific activity that they don't necessarily enjoy, but feel like they have to tolerate, in order to obtain a reward. Which, in turn, lets the gaming company point at the predictably-high engagement numbers/metrics as "proof" that players like that activity.
