We are about a month and a half or so out from the next patch, so yeah people are looking to the new exciting things. And considering BG3 is definitely in the running for GotY it's only natural to see a lot of talk about it. Not to mention it's only a highly anticipated addition to a well beloved series that was told they'd get a third one by the original studio back in the early 2000s. So yeah, going to be lots of talk. And soon you'll see lots of talk about Starfield. This has nothing to do with FF14 and more to do with the nature of gamers.

I still log in and play, and I enjoy my time in game. Sure others might not, but I can't say that it is indicative of everyone. All we have to go on is our personal feelings since SE doesn't release subscriber numbers and there are no official surveys. Does that mean I only talk about FF14 in game though? No, I'm having a blast in BG3 and like to talk about the things I like with my friends. It's almost like... that's what friends do, you know talk about shared interests that they are currently super excited about. Weird.
WoW is also almost on a new patch, very shortly actually, and population didnt change, still as many people online in my guild, and they still do weekly HC raids and mythic raids for the raid team, what gives FFXIV is different ?
