I am deeply moved by the Rising, and I am confident I am not the only one. I propose we write our own letter forest for the devs here in this thread. With stories of our adventures.

I will write mine first.

Dear Theatre Troupe,

I am Tygaera Silkypaws, an aspiring gladiator in the Crystalline Conflict arena. I favour my gun, and my gadgets. I fight with the dream of one day being able to do it on a grand stage. I fight for glory. I would not be able to do this without the inspiration, love, care and dedication you have poured into our beautiful world.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I first came to your art by way of a friend. At first, I wasn't sure whether I would like this different world. But very soon, I was enchanted with the beauty of it, both sight and sound, light and music, and in time, the characters, too. The little things, the big things, the simple smiles, the quiet tears. It was clear from all I saw and what I read about your work that you love and care for it, and I believe you when you say you love your audience and the actors on your stage. The number of things I love would fill volumes instead of this missive were I to go on. Suffice to say, I do love this world you've created and invited me into.

Thank you for having me, thank you for this world you share; may we have many more years together, and may the next 10 be even more fantastic than the last.

Not everyone is upset.

You and those like you are upset.

We all know it, because you and those like you post about how upset you are in thread after thread after thread. You go to any thread people are being positive and post about it. You start threads to post about it. You join threads where people are being negative to post about it. You won't skip an opportunity to say how upset you are. No matter the situation or how tonedeaf it is, you don't miss an opportunity to tell everyone about how upset you are.

EVERYONE GETS IT.

What you need to get is that not everyone agrees with you.

And when they're trying to do something nice, you should be a mature adult and let them.

You're like a person going to someone's wedding demanding they be upset about your divorce after you already posted on social media, did a live TV interview, held up a sign when the Jumbotron camera was on you at the local sports game, and crashed the local politician's public speech to talk about how bad your ex was BEFORE crashing this wedding to tell people they all need to be as pissed at your ex as you are.

Just let people have this.

It's not hard. All you have to do is just...let it go.

I walked into Limsa for the first time in 2019, looked up at the blazing sun and heard the surging promise of Limsa's theme. On that day I couid almost taste the sea air. My journey has been a hard one, coming as it did after a lifechanging event. Started as a brand new Arcanist, over time I faced the Ultimate Weapon, walked the frozen tundras of Ishgard and set my first steps onto the twisted landscape of the First.

The story has led me to wonder and amazement, laughter and tears, and finally exultation at Ultima Thule as we confronted Meteion, heard at last the songs of hope after a gentle friend stood by our side and bid us continue our adventures.

Thank you for this wondrous journey, thank you for the work you put in every single day, and as we move towards far off lands once again , may we both walk in the Light of the Crystal.

Cross-post from the thread I'd started, because it was the general intent of my initial post.

When I first embarked on this journey it was little more than a pass-time. A thing I did to while away the hours between shifts at work, something I did with the few friends I had at the time. Fun, yes. But superficial to me. It could as easily have been any other game, or any other hobby.

But I had seen the work involved. The risk you took. To reinvent from 1.0 and make a game that was truly worthy of the name, of the time, of the investment of your audience. I fell in love with Eorzea, with the stories and the moments of humor, wonder, joy and sadness around each corner.

I fell in love with this beautiful world, and came back, day after day to see where the story went next. To share this world, and in my own way contribute to it.

I fell in love with the music, and picked up my guitar. I put work into a hobby that had just been a hobby to that point. I fell in love with the writing, and took up my own pen, wrote my own stories. Some sharing the world of Eorzea, and some all my own. I fell in love with my fellow players, and got to know them. Have been encouraged by, and given encouragement to. Met someone who has now been in my life for ... fancy that, almost ten years exactly!

I didn't understand back then how much this game would change me. I wouldn't know for years how it had been building in my heart. What it would truly give me.

I struggled, in my own ways. Without getting too personal, I will say that a child who grows up in abuse fills the holes in their heart with tears until there are none left to cry.

Eorzea has mended wounds in me that I have not the words to explain. For twenty years, perhaps more, I could not cry. Not for the death of me. You have mended this in me, and there is nothing I can do to express how much that means.

So I bow, deeply, with reverence, to the artistry on display here. I thank you for ten years. I thank you for the tears I have shed. I thank you for the smiles, the laughter, the stories, the memories, for each and every friend I have made along the way. For every chance I have had to log in, and tell people; "Catbear is proud of you!"

And if this were to all end tomorrow, no more logging in, no more XIV, it wouldn't unmake what you have given me.

Tales of loss, and fire, and faith. Every word; on our hearts engraved.

I am a better man for this journey, and I will never be able to repay that to you.

Thank you. For ten years. For all of the struggle and all of the hardship you have had to endure in this time. For all of the times you have been disappointed in us and still continued forward. For all of the times we have been able to make you proud. For all of the times we have shared here with you, as your warriors of light.

I started my journey long ago and remember when Heavensward was being released. I played for about a year at that time and then life took me in a different direction. I never forgot about the game over the years and knew I'd make it back someday and this January was that time. I've been playing almost every day this year and here are a few notes about my journey during this time.

Vivi is an adventurer who enjoys bringing a smile to other adventurer's faces. She strives to always spread a bit of cheer as she dances her way through the bad guys. She's almost to Endwalker, woot! But for now she's focusing on the event, living in Prae most of the day, heh.

I want to say thank you to the team who made this game and keeps it alive for people like me. It has been a lifesaver and I truly am grateful I was able to come back to it after so many years. For something to have left such a lasting impression on me is rare and I am happy that this did. Thank you so much for all your hard work and know that it truly reaches the furthest places of the world, Eorzea and beyond.
