    The Coil's Situation

    So by now yall know me as the person complaining about healers not healing enough or the novice network troll if you come from Mateus. (Sorry not sorry)


    But there is something else I want to bring up that's been annoying me to no end and I legitimately do not see a reason why it cannot be implemented.

    Coils Turn 1 through Turn 13 into the normal raid roulette

    I mean that sentence there just about tells you everything I want, but to go into a bit further detail for those wanting justification. Coils are not much harder than most raids these days being released as normal mode, if you go back and you redo them? They are just as unforgiving as ones such as Omega normal or even abyssos normal.

    I do not see what the hard time would be in adding these raids to the roulette and I am honestly kinda sad that this bit of content has been abandoned to the point that when players ask about it in the novice network? the answer ahem.. "Just go unsync it." Is the go to answer..

    Why doesn't SE just do something about it instead? This isn't the first time I mentioned this either. I want coils to return, the story was cool! Don't leave it abandoned!

    They're not in the roulette because they are the savage of ARR. You would be synced to lv 50 and most people these days don't even know how to do a lot of the mechanics. Turn 3 is a jumping puzzle. They also have adds that for the most part you can't skip as they are on the way to the boss. Turn 8's map can be a bit hard to get around. If you think trying to get someone to adapt and take a different spot for a mechanic is hard now and that the responsibility for mechanics in coils would be easier then jokes on you. Even when Final Coils was fresh and people were trying to play catch up trying to get people to learn how to do the towers in T8, do renards in T7, to know the timing for how to cheese divebombs in T5. Or you know remember if it's Ice in this time with a bunch of randoms you have a lot more faith than me. People still get eaten by carbuncle, knocked off the arena while fighting Kefka and not deal with Faust in A9.

    You aren't doing it in df, not to the level you are used to with other normal raids.


    You say they aren't that much harder, but have you done them synced with randoms? Especially turn 5, all of second coil, and all of final coil?





    We can't even get players to get into stack mechanics sometimes and you expect them to do conflag, dive bombs, the tethers in t11, wild charge in t10.



    Divebombs and ice/fire in t9, etc, etc

    I know I'm taking the bait here, but I'm sure some players have contemplated this unironically.

    Some of the Coils haven't aged well, by which I mean they're now easier than a lot of normal content in the game. On the other hand, some of them would still absolutely roll your average group of randos. Adding them to the roulette seems... unwise.

    This isn't true. They are much harder than that. If they get through all of the rest, I doubt they will get through T9, which gave people trouble for years even unsynced.

    Yeah, my group of idiots (whom I love dearly) barely survived Twintania, unsync'd at like 80. Was only 5 of us though. 4 if you count floortank of a my wife.

    Mighta been 70 but I don't remember.

    Nah because it’s not normal raiders difficulty. The casual player base wouldn’t touch it.

    There's not a reason in my mind to not just tweak them slightly on the damge numbers, make a few mechanics more intuitive or have better markers, and then throw it in the roulette.
    Alexander normal has plenty of raids that can wipe easily for multiple times in a row.

    Given the story importance and the difficulty in runnign them at 50, especially on free trial, something will need to be done at some point to make it accessible to people.

    Coils is tuned to be savage level. It was also made at a time when XIV's devs really had no clue what a raid was and was throwing everything at the wall to see what stuck.

    Twintania was a pain in ARR. I remember doing that one with random people. That convinced me NOT to proceed any further at the time. Considering that it took me almost a month to clear Titan HM on release because players couldn't even handle THAT...yeah...fun times, fun times.
