Oh I know it returned but I more so mean that it hasn't returned again and it's still not on the shop.

Just because it hasn't returned yet is not an indication that it won't return. We have plenty of precedent between it and the FFXI Iroha event that they have now taken to keeping FF crossover events on the backburner and wheeling them out every so often to drum up subscriptions, rather than putting them on the shop.

That inherently means that for the majority of the time, it will have "not returned yet", while having no reason to progress to the shop.

On a serious note I'm not 100% in need of glamor because I make do with what I can get but I also understand what OP and others are feeling too.

the entire game industry is moving into a seasonal fomo, battle pass, temp event model it seems and I wouldn't say 14 is the worst culprit but at the same time the events run for a while and give you a window to get it and well if I am paying for the game I hope that because I was there in the moment I can get that thing. I wouldn't be salty if someone had something I wanted because that's the incentive in some games to get players to play. Could they re-run events again sure...but I never expect them to honestly.

From Square Enix point of view, it seems like "these are temporary events, but if you hand us some money, we're willing to forget that".

It's more like, "if you weren't around at the time to pay for these as part of your subscription, you can pay for them directly now". Nobody gets them truly entirely for free.

Sometimes they do bring back events, though it can take awhile. Off the top of my head, the FF15 event, the Garo event, the Yokai Watch event, and the Dragon Quest event have all returned.

I love it when others worry about someone else's cash flow. Hahahahaha makes me chuckle. I don't know about anyone else but every time I went to Vegas I budgeted in for a loss of cash. So if you aren't savvy to gambling horde that money, and remember you can't take it with you when you go.

Oh and ps.. don't order that delicious pizza today it's a waste of money just whip out that week old cereal and eat it because it's a fraction of the cost of the extra gooey pizza.

I mean, I paid to get them back in 2014 via sub fee, so it is what it is.

...but I do think they should move towards giving a token every year/every event that can be redeemed for one of the past event items. In this fictional example, since we're at 10 years, if you're down to play 10 more you could theoretically get all old event items.

So, do the moonfire faire in 2023, pick any 1 old reward from Moonfire Faire, one time.
