A few questions for the BLM mains/enjoyers

As a controller player, I don't want to use any manner of cursor during combat. Thankfully, macros allow you to cast anything requiring a cursor directly on top of your target. Although I'd rather avoid having to make such macros anyway. I'm not sure if we're talking about the same issues, but I think a lot of these problems would be solved if AoE spells weren't cancelled when their target died.

Yes to all of this, it's annoying enough target cycling with directional buttons or shoulder buttons, let alone faffing with cursor placement or setting a virtual cursor placement D::: There are already some fights where even if the add you have targeted dies the spell goes off [the binahs in sephi are the most noticeable] obviously the damage that would have applied to the add that dies is ghosted but the aoe still goes off and hits the remaining adds [i think??? i hope???]

In groups, for spells that are in casting to auto target the next mob if the target dies before the cast goes out. Thats all I want.

Killing off Transpose optimisation entirely - check.

Make Lv50 BLM basically unplayable - check.

Ley-Lines cooldown reduced to 90 seconds:

The BLM is not a traditional burst damage job. Shoehorning it into the 2 minute meta does not work. You put Ley-Lines down when you can stand in them for a while, not when the 2 minute timer says you have to put them down. With a 90 seconds cooldown you have more wiggle room to still match the 2 minute burst but also can place them when you don't have to move that much.


Remove Enhanced Flare and Freeze and let Blizzard 2 grant an Umbral Heart:

That we can switch phases with Fire 2 now is awesome. But they have gone overboard with it. We spend too much time building up our damage and not enough time doing that damage. The AoE rotation is too long.


And give us Umbral Soul much earlier please. At least on level 60 I want to have access to it.

90s Leylines defo understandable if they don't do what I suggested on page 1, yeah. Though I disagree on the AOE changes.

Making Blizzard II give an Umbral Heart paired with making Fire II worse again by removing Enhanced Flare effect does the following:

• Freeze is now completely pointless since we are drifting to a Flare-spam rotation so no need for more than 1 Umbral Heart provided by (High) Blizzard II
• The changes they made to (High) Fire II is being undermined to be a viable AOE spell beyond a phase shifter.

Here is the thing - you already can sort of limit your Fire II let alone Blizzard II uses by creatively using Thundercloud / Polyglot / Umbral Paradox for instants and using Transpose to phase shift.

0MP AF3 -> Blizzard II (grants Paradox) -> Freeze (UH3) -> Foul -> Transpose + Triple -> Fire II (for AF3 + Enh. Flare) -> Flare, Flare -> Transpose -> U-Paradox + Lucid -> Freeze -> T3p -> Transpose + Triple -> Fire II -> Flare, Flare -> repeat.
Triplecast, Swiftcast, Sharpcast (T3p), Manafont and Ether as available, cycle through various instants + Transpose to avoid excess use of Fire II and Blizzard II.

We don't NEED to make the spells worse for SHB style rotation, we can already just choose to not use them if we insist on less Fire II / Blizzard II. Is it the best AOE damage? Probably not, is it so much worse than doing what we do in EW? Probably not either.
