As a Rising even it was standard, and it was cute. There would be nothing to complain about. The bit about the Phoenix was completely random and really could have been something special, but that leads to...

As a 10th Anniversary event? It was quite disappointing. They didn't even bother with re-running Calamity Retold, which should have been the bare minimum for something as significant as a 10th Anniversary event. Did they actually even care about it?

To make matters more disappointing and just plain weird, the new questline about Louisoix didn't reference my legacy character at all. Not once, not even indirectly. It was very jarring to be constantly referred to vaguely as "the adventurers" while the NPCs talked about asking 'someone who was actually there'.

Granted, my character is a little flaky. She's one of the 1.0 characters that didn't show up for a long time after resubscribing, so maybe this is just part of whatever is broken about her. Nonetheless, it was absolutely bizarre to play through.

Admittedly, in a very technical sense "the adventurers" is in fact referencing my character indirectly. That's obviously not what I meant, but I wanted to observe the technicality because someone would probably mention it. ������

Same. It's a seasonal event. They're supposed to be quick and cute. You're welcome to expect more from other areas of the game, but the bar for seasonal events is intentionally low and it's impossible to go anywhere below it.

ChatGPT is a overrated tool that cannot even do a single thing right without you correcting it several times. It has been proved that chat GPT write bullshit and it is worse the more time passes, sometimes even the information given is wrong, not even outdated, just plainly wrong. I will not trust anything to that thing, not even for fiction stories.

They should've at least made the quest something about the Phoenix, make everyone do a nerfed version of Coils or just T12 and T13. WoW's seasonal quest was much more involved. This isn't just any Rising this is their 10th anniversary Rising, and yet it's so generic.

I would agree had FFXIV events been anything like WoW in the past, but unfortunately they never have. How seasonal events are ‘one-and-done’ with no real repeatable rewards or incentives, is one of my biggest disappointed of the game from day one. Especially when they decide to add past items to the Store rather then event merchants…

That said, I was OK with this one. The sentiment was sweet, and I loved the Forest of Letters idea. Reading the dev messages was nice. Also I would rather a board SE intern write the quest then let AI or Chapt Bots touch the games lore…

They were kind of like WoW's early on, though the grind still didn't last more than a day max. But people actually had to put in some effort for their rewards, even if it was just Fate grinding or repeatable quests. They've been doing that less and less as time goes on, usually just removing the grind outright.

Obviously GPT can't do it, as a software engineer you should know that your field evolve way faster than he is able to follow - specially when he stopped to learn 2 years ago.

However, as a tool to gather references or documentation reading (often sucks in development), he is good enough. In some cases he can be useful as stack overflow. Accept it and move on.
