Lol, sometimes I wonder. At what point will players stop to think: "are we being taken advantage of?"no aonori, no red ginger, heck there isn't even any cabbage let alone any meat. just noodles and it doesn't even fill out the plastic dish it's in. i'd feel ripped off if i paid roughly seven dollars for that. might as well just go to the store and get the ingredients to make my own, probably be even cheaper if it's just the noodles and that amount. bet even just a store packaged bento would be cheaper than that.
also lol, i found the original twitter post and the op said they went back to the place and the price had gone up.

Maybe I'm jaded, but this doesn't really surprise me as someone who lives in the US. This is pretty standard practice over here. High prices for mediocre to average food and drink at, say, movie theaters...and festivals/conventions/etc like this one, just because they can get away with it. Even if you pay to get into it in the first place.

Yes, citizen, you hit the nail on the head. The main goal of many companies is to generate a profit, and if they can do that while getting away with putting in the least effort possible then that's just what they'll do. SE is really no different when it comes to this.Maybe I'm jaded, but this doesn't really surprise me as someone who lives in the US. This is pretty standard practice over here. The dark times will pass.

So make them do it then. Just make a version that doesn't wipe you. They made a whole quest about Louisoix but you don't even need to see how he finally died?

I didn't feel like this rising event was any less than the previous ones. They are usually never anything too wild and the only thing that might hint about upcoming content is the minstrel's song at the end, it's the only thing that ever has in the past.
You’re now very close to understanding why I posted a thread a few days ago about why I dislike timegate.
It’s farming player sunk cost for subscription revenue rather than having companies rely on making content stand up on their own to generate profit with.

Time gating is an MMO thing that should be expected. It's all about how it's handled that determines whether it's reasonable time gating or not. WoW struggles with this. FF XIV seems to get it.
It’s fine personally if it’s done on cosmetics. But as soon as you make ilvl based on how long your subscription is, it’s worthless as I can see right through it.
I view cosmetics behind such as loyalty rewards. But doing it to power scaling is nope.
Things like tomes and raid gear are time gated because players can consume content exponentially faster than the devs can create it. The limits are there because the alternative is hardcore players running a hundred dungeons and raids and getting BiS in the first week, and then spending the next 4-8 months complaining that there's nothing to do.
