2.0 Website and SE time sensetivity

You see, Valve time makes sense because they don't want to "break promises"...SE time and Valve time can't be compared.

SE Time -

-Early Month: 1st - 12th
-Mid Month: 14-24th
-End of Month: 27-31st if applicable, carry over to first week of next month
-Soon - Example: "Summoners will get 2 new avatars soon ~ 2006."
Fast forward to 2009
"Introducing Alexander and Odin!
Fast forward 3 months
"Ok now you guys can get it!"

SE's definition of "soon" is anywhere from 2 hours to 4 years. Valve time is just 'when it's ready' lol.

Did you even look at the OP's link? Valve time is in a league of it's own.

Either way, the butthurt is strong in this one.

haven't you read the time schedule till 2.0. release?

SE is in time with that plan..

which means, they will start with the campaign in august after the release of 1.23...
this includes trailer, web page etc.

why do they start the campaign after the release of version 1.23? because no one would pay attention on 1.23 when they see new trailers of 2.0.

So I guess soon means 5 minutes to you and the OP. You know the definition of soon to each person usually represents how much patience that person has.

So by your argument we can have a "soon" of a few hundred years and say "well, its a short time compared to the age of the universe"

Which is why companies use the word "soon" instead of giving a specific time period. That single word can have an infinite amount of definitions, so expecting it by your standard of soon logically makes no sense.

What's disappointing is during the Eorzeapedia podcast they had mentioned the site was indeed coming before August, but at this point I don't know how true that is.
