Well Dragon LB is just to overkill to begin with... it makes them invulnerable for seconds when they start to use it, meanwhile for example me as a BARD while doing my LB that is useless to begin with makes me vulnerable for seconds, and not just Bard , almost everyone else to, then it does way too much dmg, and the cherry on the top is, even after they hit the ground you can't punish them because they have a shield that it's almost impossible to break, and it does an AOE dmg that almost 1hit kills you even if you are on full hp, and when the shield is broken or just goes down even does dmg... i have no idea who thought this is a good idea, but LB-s for some jobs do way too much dmg.... and in Rival Wings where there is a lot of people, the more they kill the faster their LB will come back , we are still lucky there is no such a thing in Frontline), so they almost have unlimited amount of LBs because of it. I still think PVP in this game will never be good or even close to be balanced because no one has any idea how to make PVP good, even the new Shatter rework shows this perfectly, they made the map more unbalanced and unfair than ever. And the problems with being in a party in PVP are problems only because the dev team made some jobs so broken it makes them unfair compared to the rest... so the problem is not the fact you can play it in a party, that makes PVP more fun, the problem is with the broken balance and the entire system, when they made Crystal Conflict and started to balance jobs around that made the entire PVP broken, it's not the people fault , it's the dev teams fault, they created this problem and with every patch they make it worse and worse, if you have big group PVP you need to start balancing around that, not the other way around. There was party PVP before the rework too, but I didn't see problems like this in Frontline than... This entire thing is because of a lot of half-assed PVP rework from people who don't really play or played any PVP oriented games.

Even if there is no bonus to LB generation in Frontlines, Battle High 5 gives you 50% more damage which makes Sky Shatter hit for about 60k at the point of impact (with Life of the Dragon active), a guaranteed oneshot on most jobs.
That's nothing to do with server ticks, which are only specifically used for the eorzean clock, HP/MP natural recovery, and HoTs.
I also fail to see how it has anything to do with the server at all tbh. You see a DRG LB heading you way, either you jump out before, or you guard?
You aren't. I don't know how many times l have complained that they aoe abilities in pvp need to be capped at 5 targets....
It's not exactly hard to stun them and yoink them into your team so that they get deleted. They need to expose themselves extremely bad to execute a LB in the middle of your blob, and you can see them coming from miles away, giving you time to patiently wait for them to come down, stun them, and delete them. It's a skill issue, but I'm ready to admit that some jobs are better equipped to do this than others. If you're a BRD, unfortunately elusive jump breaks through bind... You'll have to count on others in your team to do it, and a lot of people don't seem to know how to react.
RW's version of battle high (soaring) recharging LBs is nuts.
The problem is that you play the modes that are half broken, and made sweeping statements on pvp being broken as a result. Don't get me wrong, I wish they did something for FLs and RW, but that doesn't make pvp inherently bad. The root of the problem lies elsewhere, aka in the modes in question.
FLs has always been a gigantic mess and people that deny it are wearing rose tinted glasses. Before CC, all pvp was balanced around Feast. Guess what Feast paradigm created in FLs? The team with more healers won. And yes, we had other broken combos running rampant at one point or another, or broken jobs in FLs. Stormblood FLs was ninja galore, they were literally everywhere, could teleport from miles away to you, stun you at 25y range, get close, re-stun you again, nothing personal kid, and to add insult to injury, they had so many out of jail free cards it was impossible to catch them. So yes, they need to balance those modes on their own and detach them from CC more than just with bandaids like DR.
would that argument be valid if it was for non-pvp duties where noone has a problem with playing with friends then?
Soaring just exacerbates all the problems of Battle High. I really think they need to disable Rival Wings or just turn off Soaring until they rebalance the map for the new PvP changes. Losing mid is basically game over for 90% of games cause the other team walks out of the mid fight with 15-20 Soaring stacks while you have....maybe 1. Then it's a steamroll or a slow choke loss.

I have to use guard because I know there's a chance this will happen, that's my point, which is stupid because in other mmo's, out or range means out of range and I don't have to waste defensive cd's because of server nonsense.
i’ve popped Guard just about every time i’ve seen a drg lb heading my way, but because of server latency/the issue with 72 people in FL being a laggy mess i still took the full damage from the lb.
