Grand Company update

So I’m been noticing a lot of new jobs don’t have weapons found in grand companies. I don’t know if they have given up on grand companies but is there a chance they may add new weapons from the new jobs in Companies like reaper? I know they are a small team I’m just wondering and if not it’s cool.

I don't know - in some cases, most obviously Reaper as you say, the job is - per the job quests - something of a 'lost art' that precious few practice, therefore I guess the game's lore doesn't really support the Grand Companies providing weapons for it.

Some of the jobs they do provide weapons for are restricted or outright illegal (white mage, black mage, dark knight), so lore isn't the reason. The Grand Companies' inventories just haven't been meaningfully updated in years.

White mages and black mages are limited, but conjurers and thaumaturges are not.

Likewise, dark knights are not the sole users of greatswords, or they wouldn't have one of the Heavens' Ward publicly wielding one.

A lot of newer classes usually don't get items in older shops, anywhere. It's not just grand company stuff.

Also they've said they don't know what to do with GC Stuff, which is why it's years between updates for it.

It's a shame, they could just add few more ranks and increase GC seal capacity, that alone would've been enough.

They do. They just don't get gear that starts at levels below what the job starts at.

So for example, if you're looking at RPR you won't find any gear below level 70. It makes perfect sense because the only purpose for it would be for glam.

GCs need a rework though. Totally not just saying that because I've run out of reasonable items to purchase with seals besides just dumping them into sub mats and selling them.

It is a shame I enjoy the Grand Company hunts and getting seals to spend on items offered. I wish they could expand and make it more rewarding.

I also want more GC content, they could easily integrate it into things like Deep Dungeons and Exploratory areas. Take the Squadron into the next Deep Dungeon for example.
