Bro when I hit glare over 150 times in a medium optimized fight that is 12 mins long then good lord the role needs new paint badly. Content like top made me almost fall asleep when I play whm that in comparison summoner is gameplay heaven.

So one entire role has to sacrificed at the alter of “easy entry to savage prog”, that’s quite possibly the stupidest reasoning I’ve heard for current healer design and over 14 years I’ve heard some real stupid reasoning
“Play another job” ha, how, my entire role is a disaster
Okay what if I liked Heavensward or Stormblood Scholar, what do I do now? Just says "shucks I guess it's fine my job got gutted so people who have zero interest in it get to have a 'entry into savage/ex prog'? I do Ultimates on SCH btw, should I play another job? Please explain thank you kindlyI've always felt like the healers are actually there to be low apm entry into savage/ex prog. And if you don't like that gameplay then...play another job? To be fair, Cure and regen were just 2 skills that you could use over the history of ff franchise. I do feel like the healing kit is a bit bloated. If they tried to reduce the skills, all of them would just turn into reskins of redmage.
If the end result of a role is for it to eventually be replaced as one gains skill, then you've made a role with no lasting appeal. You've told people who like the idea and fantasy of that role that they're just temporary.
You also indirectly tell anyone who doesn't touch the role that what they're doing is inherently "more skillful". A big slap in the face for someone that puts in the effort to optimize their healing to squeeze as much damage as possible.
Just because they can deal damage and heal doesn't make a job RDM, otherwise you may as well argue that PLD is holy RDM because of Clemency. Jobs in XIV are more than just simply what they do, but also how they do something. A WHM that has an array of elemental or holy attacks doesn't have to play like RDM or PLD, it is possible for it to carve its own playstyle that incorporates the healing and DPS together and make something unique.

I always find it incredibly funny when people act as if 'more job responsibilities' and 'better designed downtime kit' are mutually exclusive. We can have both, we DID have both before ShB.

It’s probably the thing that’s most annoying about healers
The role has literally regressed over time
We are told we are asking for too much for asking for 10% of what the ShB changes too from us back, even though the DPS are pretty homogenised at least they 95% of them are objectively better than they were in SB, meanwhile the modern healers are worse than the trash fire classes we had in ARR, hell at this point I’ll take legacy CNJ back over current WHM

These are my casts on a bad grey log as sgn in top. Fight has 2,5 minutes downtime, so in short 16,5 mins of pure casting. This is a safe run with me shielding almost all big aoes. If you tell me with a straight face pressing 1 for 181 is fine then I can’t take you serious anymore. And you know my reward for being better as healer would be pressing 1 even more. The role needs fresh paint or every veteran will sooner or later jump ship.
Like I wrote in my post above sage has 4 dps buttons and I get on a bad grey log still almost 190 casts dosis in. And my reward getting better is more Dosis cast

I've noticed that people who try and defend current healer design always nitpick the "press 1 button" line. It's like they can't defend anything else, so they just focus on that one line and say you're just lying and exaggerating and it's not that bad.
Makes you think, don't it?
