    Whatever happened to Odin?

After we destroy his host's body in ARR and his real body, the sword, is stolen by a tempered Wood Wailer we never see him again until the last patch of Shadowbringer where we see G'raha and Alisaie fight, what I assume is, a recreation of Odin by Fandaniel and his towers.

So, what I am asking is, whatever happened to the real Odin after he disappeared in ARR? :0

Well the "real" Odin is the sword, of course, Zantetsuken. It is, presumably, one of Eureka (the primal)'s creations and as such a self-sustaining "trigger weapon" as described by the Allagans. After Zantetsuken is stolen by the tempered wood wailer, they presumably become Odin. The Odin FATE basically shows what happens with whomever turns into Odin, that is, a bunch of adventurers go out and beat up Odin once he resurfaces and then the person who "kills" Odin gets turned into Odin by Zantetsuken.

Basically, Zantetsuken is presumably still in circulation through the Black Shroud, last we heard of it, which was in one of A Realm Reborn patches I believe.

Yeah, while you the player-WoL of course can't get possessed by the sword, the implication is that every time Odin is fought, some "average adventurer" makes off with the sword as a trophy – and then next time "Odin" turns up, it's them (really them, not Odin copying their appearance), they get killed, and some other adventurer takes the sword as a trophy...

Odin's even brought up as a still-present concern as of 6.3, so yeah, he's still around, still in that process of 'Zantetsuken possesses a wielder and they become the next Odin'.

If you want more information about him, I'd suggest doing Stormblood's Eureka storyline; it's related, even if it doesn't seem like it would be. ...Or, if you don't feel like doing obsolete, grindy relic content (and fair enough), you can just look at the JoJo Stand they built him as a reference to.

If zentetsuken is circulating the black shroud then what is Raiden, since Raiden occupies the chamber of the zentetsuken containment

Not saying you are wrong Just genuinely curious

Oh, that one's easy: sibling sword. Shin-Zantetsuken. Raiden's combat lines refer to Odin, too, suggesting how they saw the world as of their original creation in the days of Allag: Raiden is definitely anti-Allag, and it seems like Odin is too. Understandable you missed that line, because who's looking for lore in BArsenal incidental dialog?

    Eureka spoilers ahead:

All the bosses in the Baldesion Arsenal are weapon-primals like them, collected by the Students of Baldesion. (How you manage to collect that sort of stuff, I have no idea.) Odin slipped their search in large part because it was already contained in Urth's Fount at the time they were collecting it.

Judging by the story of Eureka Orthos, the primal Eureka was handled by Allag's enemies before beign taken in by them; that'd probably explain Odin and Raiden being the way they are, while the other weapon-primal that slipped the Students by, Excalibur, was definitely Allagan and entirely different.

Thank you for answering my question everyone!

So Odin has been mentioned in 6.3 as still being a concern for Gridania and the fates we occasionally do revolving around his next host is basically said thorn in the Gridanian's sides that they've yet to resolve.

I hope we get to focus on Odin again sometime in the next expansion. With the Eorezan Alliance having a means of resisting tempering now, it'll be interesting to see how the Gridanians handle dealing with and capturing Odin.

I'm thinking they'll hand Zantenzuken off to the Students of Baldesion to be sealed with the rest of its kin.

Though, I also hope to see Noah be involved with dealing with Odin, too. Whether helping with its capture or the aftermath since we still needs a means off also permanently destroying Eureka, besides letting slowly bleed out in a slow death while it remains sealed. And she'd probably be the one who could actually figure out a faster solution to dealing with it.

Well, I've got bad news about the Students: they have been almost completely wiped out! And the BArsenal isn't exactly a safe prison anymore.

I feel like Odin and his buddies get some extra story in every second expansion, though; he's fleshed out in ARR, Stormblood, and Endwalker. So I don't expect Dawntrail to add something direct, but I do expect a completely random sidestory in the expansion after Dawntrail to add more to that one out of completely nowhere.

True, but Krile and G'raha are rebuilding the Students of Baldesion.

I haven't played through the Baldesion Arsenal yet, but I assumed that once you beat them all, they are sealed back up. Is that not the case? :0

Twould be funny if we had to act as Noah's bodyguard because Odin hears of a surviving Allagan and tries to come after her as our random sidequest related to Odin next expansion. xD
