What I think are flaws in the mog station system:
- Confusing and easy to overlook/forget when you don't need it to resub.
- You need to log in "again" despite being in the game and sometimes even "twice" based on which link you click in the store.
- Items are often overpriced to the point where you just stop caring, even if you get a discount.
- Many items are never added to the mog station, even not in game so you can't get them.
- Few items are added to the mog station, knowing the game is near 10 years I feel it only has enough items to justify the last 5 years.
What I think could solve these issues:
- Add a function to the market board that makes the mog station shop come up in a pop up (overlapping game like an overlay). It would detect your game log-in and therefor wouldn't ask you to log in again. It would only need verification on payment method so no one could buy stuff on your account in the event that it got hacked.
- Add a function where players can request items through a search function that shows all items in the game that are not scheduled to be released on the market board or an NPC and allow members to request one of those items and add an upvote button. That way SE can figure out what people might want so they can either add it to special events or add it to the mog station for purchase. It would also be a good idea for SE to add columns in the store so people can upvote they want to see more furniture, more mounts, more minions etc.. based on the upvotes SE would know what to give more attention.
- Overall pricing should be a bit cheaper "or" they could add a function where you get a discount based on the price you paid. So 5% discount every 20 € spent, 10% for 45€ and 15% for 80€ and more.
I think a combination of all these factors could actually increase sales since right now I meet players who've been playing the game for months, sometimes even years and they STILL didn't know what the mog station store was... They only knew how to resub xD
(the mog station - FFXIV relationship is too hectic/confusing for many people, even if you might not agree... as an 8y player I STILL find it confusing!)
