Nothing about healer DPS is satisfying, and a big reason for this is because healers do not have to choose between healing and doing damage 95% of the time, and if they do have to resort to using GCDs to heal party members or themselves, typically things have gone horribly wrong. Sage is really the only healer that has a rewarding mechanic in Toxicon. WHM is pretty close as well with Misery but these are felt the most in multiple target scenarios, when that damage really ramps up. SCH and AST have nothing that comes close to this.

For a long time I have opposed adding DPS buttons to healer kits. I still have this mentality, but that doesn't mean I am against them being rewarded for having skills that inflict dopamine levels of damage on their targets for playing the job correctly. Toxicon and Misery are great examples of this, and feel very good to use the more targets there are. This needs to somehow take place in ST scenarios as well for all four healers. This dev team simply needs to get their heads out of their arses and do it.

Healers should not be able to allocate GCDs to damage as much as they do. There should be an actual decision making process on whether to heal or deal damage. OGCDs should only support their healing and not take up the brunt of it. GCD heals should be high potency to make up for their cast time, and some oGCDs could be designed around making their GCD heals instant for sticky situations.

In short, there are ways to make this role interesting, but they need to stop coddling the playerbase. It's gotten way past the point of being ridiculous. They also need to stop allowing other roles to fill in for them so heavily. Too many other jobs have high levels of self sustain and mitigation, and this needs to stop as well. Let healers be healers.
