Latest Official Developer Statements About Healer DPS?

In 2017, Yoshi-P went on record stating the developers do not expect Healers to contribute to DPS.* Like so many things, some people liked this and some people disliked this, but regardless it provided some valuable insight into the way the devs approach the design of content and roles.

My question is: a lot of time has passed since 2017, so I'm wondering if since then Yoshi-P has ever gone on record as having either altered or reinforced this stance. If so, I'd be grateful if someone could provide the source for whatever he said about it.

I'm just curious to know what the devs have officially said about this sort of thing. Thanks for the help on that!

The thing with Yoshida and the devs is that you pretty much have to take most of what they say with a grain of salt. Be it both good or bad.

A lot of things and QoL features we now have in the current game was originally stated previously that it was "impossible" to implement. At the time.

Considering how healers toolkit lacks much dps options besides one or 2 attack spells nowadays, I would believe that hes and the job design team are still in that mindset that healers should be healing more than dpsing

Plus, consider that even if it's a solid 'no' to something game developers can change their minds with even less than a year. A lot of people here on this Forums die on the hills of cemented features/statements, but is like that saying "it is until it's not anymore".

It wasn't even like that at the time.
When that was said, wasn't there a savage raid that with some combinations of classes, the healer DID have to do DPS, or it couldn't be completed?
So, either the "all classes are fine" or "healers don't have to do dps" was false at that moment?

They completely changed stance. P8S before nerf wouldve been 100% impossible to clear without healer DPS imo.

None of the late Savage fights are or were clearable at min ilvl or even 10 ilvls above min ilvl without healer DPS. It was wrong even in 2017.

Any fights that actually REQUIRE it in order to clear on patch are probably accidents/overtuned/unintended given all the statements

Is that why every single third and fourth floor Savage fight since Gordias are unclearable on patch at the intended ilvl? There is not a single exception.

We don’t have to guess, it was mathematically impossible without healer dps

We know this isn't true because of raids like E8S being mathematically impossible to clear on patch without healers doing DPS, even in top 1% optimized speedrun environments.
