I too miss my nostalgia goggles.

I too miss my nostalgia goggles.

I miss 1.0
Actually I missed the chance to being able to play it. If I knew I would get so invested in everything FFXIV, I would've taken up on that experience no matter how awful it was in those days.

Also btw, hahaha.
I'm saving this thread. Because come 3 or 5 years later or so, where we bark this same conversation again about "I miss EW" You bet I'll be pulling up this thread to remind the wishy washy/nostalgia goggle nature of the average MMO player.

I shudder to think how bad it would get, to pine for the days of EW...

People tend to forget a lot of the things 3.0 didn't have. Like cross-world party finder, which wasn't added until 3.5. Or CD reset on wipe. Melee couldn't sprint without using up all of their TP, and being useless for a bit. Accuracy was still an annoying stat to deal with.

Why wait when you can just dig through the forum?
I think the game have hit it breaking point. Sure, we were excited every time a patch come out, but now we know what the patch is even before it hit. The old re-hash of 2 New Dungeon, 1 New Trials, Continue of MSQ, and new PvP having been copy and paste since 2.0. It is now almost 2 years into the patch and yet we see the same re-hash formula still being used.
Even the most hardcore or fan base of the franchised have giving up hope on this game. SE need to break out of their shell and try something new, do not afraid to take risk. You can't used the same formula over and over again just because it work well in ARR.
It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
It's almost as though some of us genuinely enjoyed the previous expansions and dislike the direction the game has taken in order to cater to those who did not.

Its not like we're on our what, 3rd expansion of them continuing the course. If they were going to change back to "ye olden days of Accuracy, no CD resets, and contrived game systems" they would have done it by now.
They aren't going to revert to Heavensward. Stormblood into Shadowbringers confirmed that.
Actually expecting them to go back to those days is a very different matter to looking back at them fondly, though. They're very likely to continue cutting away whatever they feel that they can get away with ridding themselves of in the name of streamlining the game with increasing eagerness. I don't think many are expecting otherwise, though it's still good to leave feedback even if it won't amount to anything. Its not like we're on our what, 3rd expansion of them continuing the course.
