Please do away with the following and sniping quests

I find the quests where you have to follow someone without being seen and the ones where you have to use some sort of scope to shoot someone with something irritating.

They reek of trying to fill the story with whatever can be found, instead of story.

Please SE, do away with these mechanics.

They do it to break the monotony of go here and talk to people.





They don't use them excessively. It's fine as is.

I think personally if they do commit to a new start point with say 6.1 or so onwards then fine but if they still go with the whole start from ARR...then they need to go back through ARR-SB and trim some fat cause there is indeed stuff that doesn't need to happen you could trim another 10-15% of quests between them still. Do what they did with the ARR rework and put some to side quests etc or maybe nerf the objectives within them. ARR post patches still could use a proper tidy up.

If anything, we need more of these sorts of things, implemented more effectively. They should be used in a way that uniquely supports the story and makes it a better experience.

This game tends to do a laughable job of actually leveraging its medium(videogame) to help tell and support its story. The current summer event is a great example; You literally just spend the entire event reading text boxes.

I like those quests, myself. Wouldn't mind seeing more of them, or at least more quests that have us do something different from the norm.

Uh, no. These sort of quests are very typical for video games. They happened all the time when I was young playing PS1 games. Follow-someone without being seen was SO common. They were trying to add old RP features from single player games that many of us will remember. I welcome it because they make the quests more interesting than just click this, click that, kill a few enemies.

These were terrible on the release of EW, but they've been patched to be less annoying, now they're just reskins of the usual "go to x and right click it"
