How is this NOT harrasment/griefing?

So he killing all the mobs. But the boss mobs and just sitting around waiting for us to kill them ruining 3 people's experience and fun to get himself an achievement is all ok? Are you even listening to yourselves?

And move camp? So we're supposed to run all over the world and hope the theres not a 50 there ruining the event?

This is one of the many reasons I was royally pissed to hear that they was bringing Achievements to FFXIV. I was so happy that XIV was an MMO that didn't have it because there was so many times in other games that one or two people would ruin an event because they didn't get their achievement or something along those lines. They hurt the community more than they help it but that is a tactics the game companies use to lure those type of people into buying their games. There are many gamers out there these days that don't care anything about anyone else they just care about getting some stupid digital achievement, they don't care if they have to walk over other people or ruin other peoples enjoyment just as long as they get their stupid achievement.

You're assuming every player is an achievement whore. I don't really plan on getting that achievement myself, and if I were, I wouldn't be ruining the exp for everyone else in the process.

I used behests for leveling whenever I was out there doing leves anyway. It's like a free leve every half an hour without having to port back to town and pick it up. There's no reason not to do them when they pop up.

He's not doing anything wrong, but he definitely could be more polite about it.

When I run easy behests for achievements and I see someone lower level is trying to do it I let them know they can claim the mobs, then I kill them asap so they can at least get the EXP.

They always seem to enjoy it and it makes no difference for me as I have to wait another 25-27 minutes for the next one anyway.

That seems like the best way to do it. No way to communicate that to a player if he doesn't know english, though.

completely agree with thevids here. this is part of the issue with adding achievements for behests and leves after people have already hit max level on their chars.

most times i won't join parties because i kill the party sp, but if they talk to me i'll join the party and claim the mobs and then they can kick me just so they get the sp. i'm just trying to get the completion as fast as possible when doing behests and the sp is worthless if you are r50 already. when you see them again just talk to them and see if they have an issue with that or if they may be just being a jerk. the problem is even if they are doing it to be rude it's still nothing they are doing that's against the rules as they are working towards in game content.

ive seen this alot recently, but figured out that most people are willing to help you out. the'd let me attack the mobs, then they would kill em all. i'd bow and thank them for all the exp, lol
