Sure, that's fair. It's a matter of implication. Especially given recent threads (that have repeatedly asked players critical of the game to defend their right to/rationale for still playing it), it's hard not to read some "If you don't like X, why don't you just quit altogether?(!)" energy from the OP at a glance (especially if you're someone repeatedly called out just for being a "frequent negative poster"), even if one would normally assume from the post's style that such probably isn't the fairest take on his intent.
I agree with your conclusion that it doesn't help the discourse to react that way, but at the same time, that reaction doesn't seem unreasonable in/from this context.
I will say: OP came as rather reasonable to me, and Storm always seems a bit confrontational no matter what, but given how hard it is to find good faith posts in the forum... yeah, I can't say I don't get it.
How many of you have gone through life only getting negative feedback from others?
Or have you also received positive feedback so you know the things you've done well and should continue doing while balancing that against the areas where some improvement may be needed?
The devs are just as human as the rest of us. They need the positive feedback just as much as the negative. They need to know what players like just as much as they need to know what players feel needs to be improved.
That doesn't mean something positive has to be said every time something negative is brought up. But if you enjoy the game enough to continue subscribing, at least give some credit to what is keeping you logging in. Let the devs know that you do appreciate their efforts even if things are not perfect.
Feedback needs to be constructive, whether positive or negative, if it's going to be helpful in improving the game. When you resort to using hyperbole, derogatory words and insults directed at the devs or other players, you're undermining yourself. Those reading can't help but doubt the reasons you are posting.
If you feel like no one is listening, consider the possibility that the way feedback is being presented is causing the developers to tune it out. It's a rare person that's going to care about what someone says if that person comes across as nothing but hostile.

That's what happens when you eventually get tired of the typical "just unsub surely it'll make a difference if everyone unsubs !" No it wont, thanks to the mogstation. All they have to do is up prices, sell a bit more (which they already started doing, look at how recurrent the new mogstation stuff is, more and more lately), and it covers the lost subs, if its a big disaster, sell some graha tia plushies eating a taco for $500 a pop, and the bank is full again.

What has square done in the last (when was EO released again…….) 8 months that’s worthy of praise and I’m being generous with EOHow many of you have gone through life only getting negative feedback from others?

I’ve played this game since legacy so I do things on patch, I’m not going to come here and fawn over 6 year old content in my backlog
Release something worthy of praise and I’ll praise it

I try to be positive most of the time because I believe that if you put out positive it comes back to you. That said, I have been posting on and off here for years. Sometimes I don't post for years that said there is a subset of people here who are just plain negative. Negative criticism has a place as well as positive criticism. Seems to me though that as soon as you have something positive to say you get jumped on and called a white knight. I can tell many of the negative posters have never written a company memo and if they have I wonder how many employees they caused to leave? Criticism is fine said in the proper manner. Some of the posters hide behind the facade that by being negative all the time ,they actually care about this game when in actuality they are projecting how unhappy they are with their own lives.
But they don't want to hear that and so they continue to be snarky to others for having a different view point. Then there are the trolls whole other subject. That's why this forum is in desperate need of moderation. OP I can't really answer your question properly because I enjoy my time playing this game. I can only give you my view point.

^why do all positive posters get called white knights
Also all negative posters are projecting failure from IRL onto the forums

Why do you insist on mis quoting me? I never called anyone a failure. Failure and unhappy are two different words that mean two different things.
You will have to answer the white knight question yourself.
Unless I am misunderstanding you, are you commenting on my post or the OPs post?

Typically I only see white knight get brought up when they're trying to completely shut down all criticism and overly-defend Square. The same could also be said in reverse though, those who complain are told to leave because some can't handle the idea of their video game having something wrong with it.
Ultimately though, half of the posts on this forum are created by people who exist to bait others and we have barely any mod interaction here so they continue to flourish. The toxicity will always be present, I just learned to ignore it.

Nice tags there Raenman, care to explain ? (for those interested, look down to the tags on the page, the last 2 tags)
Looks like after insulting me you're not done yet ? Now you're onto another poster because you disagree with them ?
Seriously, I don't even know where people get the idea that 7.0 is going to fix or even partially fix the problems with this game, it's not just one or two people, it's like the majority of the playerbase.
If you don't like the game at all, unironically save yourself the money and quit now because at this point this game is irredeemable. There's literally no point in waiting for 7.0 to fix anything. Spoiler: they won't. Only reason to stick to this game is for secondary, non-game purposes.
