Some things while being easy are quite overused. And if you dont use your house for RP, i would avoid making such area as they can consume quite a lot of space. Things like bedrooms take up a lot of space which you could have used to decorate something else.

However, things like this can be a nice filler for when you want to keep a space unused for later. A bedroom is still better than an empty room. And on that same part: you can also block the area entirely with partitions. Might seem like a waste to others, but its your house, not theirs.

Dont be afraid to tear down your design if it doesnt look the way you want it to be. Practice makes perfect.

Use color and test which work. A lot of furniture can be colored, but some do have diffirent tones. Using the preview function is on that a good way to test if it works.

Just because you like a furniture piece doesnt mean that you can use it. Some designs simply do not support all sorts of furniture. Trying to still place such thing in it might look out of place. Keeping the theme is more important.

Take your time, and ask others to judge, even if its halfway done. Better to get good inspiration halfway, than to be finished and get a suggestion you now cannot use anymore or need to tear down a lot again.

But on that: You are almost never truly finished. There are nearly always small tweaks you can do, and sometimes new furniture is added that you can use.

No design is the best, while some designs might appear complex, some simple designs are better because building style is a key factor. All the tricks to lift items from the floor might not even be needed in the design you want to make. Dont try to do complex things because you can. Only do that when you think its needed.
