This. We're quick to beg for a better community, but then we'll direct personal attacks on people who don't share our opinions, alas.

Starting one's contribution to a forum with a wall of text full of hyperbolic statements and unconstructive, inflamatory ranting isn't exactly the best way to instigate discussion or asking for help. It's not a matter of sharing "opinions", since the OP didn't express his ideas as opinions. Groundless bashing is naturally met with negativity, and trying to depict the OP as a poor, innocent, victim of the rabid community (which is untrue) is just intentionally warping reality.

But that doesn't excuse direct insults at their person, regardless. Neither side should have personal insults directed at them, and that's my issue here.

As long as we both concur that's how a person should conduct themself, particularly if we're asking for a better community, as mentioned.
