Exp limiting systems no longer exist and haven't since 2011. Roulettes are there to encourage high level players to run content beneath their level once a day to help lower level duties fill up; new players could not progress through the story otherwise.

This can be a pretty big shift from WoW, but most ex or both WoW players of FFXIV will attest that the story doesn't waste your time too much, especially as it ramps up towards the end of 2.5, so hopefully you'll find it engaging. The rest of the game is a lot of talking to skip through otherwise.[/HB]
I actually found the time to read through the responses and therefore have to break my "P.S." point.

It seems what that person told me was outright false. However, thanks for the advice and will look into it by time. What my original frustration was about (in case people weren't able to read in-between the lines) how slow leveling feels overall in Dungeons from a visual point of view. Maybe it's because I am used to different XP bars (WoWs visuals for XP bars are separated in brackets, not a straight line like FF14 has), so it is easier to read out progress in other games for me than in FF14. But that's a me-issue.

Anyways, I will mark the thread as solved via an edit.

Yhaknow, I'm going to have to let my view shift and like you.
I understand being upset, and I did say as much, but you managed to sort through, it, take in new information, and actually go forward in the right direction... and that's cool. That's the kind of things I view in the best of people.

In other words, good on you, and well done.

You could try going into HUD Layout and either increasing the size of the XP bar or moving its location on the screen (or both). The customization available in FFXIV's default HUD is much better than WoW's default (though of course not as good as you could get with WoW add-ons).
