Honestly, the only reason I'm still consistently subbed is because a lot of my friends still play FFXIV, and I enjoy the raid content. I'd probably have taken extended breaks by now if not for those reasons.

This is basically me.

I also think all of these "vote with your wallet/stop complaining/go away" posts are disingenuous concern trolling at best. These people don't give a rat's ass if you have a good time or not. They love sloppy game design and want a forum full of uncritical praise for the direction it's been headed.

They want us gone because we point out that modern FFXIV coddled their laziness. They don't like this.

2. Theatrics and hyperbole, kind of like the post I'm responding to.

It's been 4 years since ShB came out and they've done nothing but take content quality and quantity away, little by little. The forums have had radio silence from devs and community managers for a long time now. Some of Yoshi-P's statements to the players have been downright dismissive, such as the infamous 'go play Ultimate' statement. We saw in front of our eyes some of the FFXIV staff and undoubtedly, funds, get taken to work on another game. Do you think the complaints are getting through to the devs? Because it doesn't seem that way to me. And it's not like this is some new phenomenon. This has been the situation in this game for awhile now.

Not everything is about you. In case you didn’t notice I actually responded to someone else. I didn’t even bother reading most of your OP since I really have no interest in whether you’ve temporarily unsubbed rather than your original plan to stay here another year while telling others to.

If you want a response to you specifically I’ll give you one. I find it quite theatrical that you tell people to unsub “forever”. At the time you wrote this you planned on playing another year. Even now I doubt you’ll be gone “forever”. You’re still here now.
