Eureka and Bozja: level 90 equipment and materia scaling?

When syncing to do Eureka and Bozja content, I've heard some people say that the way the syncing works you get better results if you use an actual level 70 or 80 weapon (respectively) with materia of the appropriate level for that weapon, as compared to just wearing your level 90 gear and materia and letting the syncing scale it down. Is there any truth to that?

To be clear, I know there are special Eureka-specific items like the Vermillion Cloak that give boosts when in Eureka, those aren't what I'm asking about.

there is a difference yes, but it is negligible. just wear what you want in there.

No the thing you are thinking of is an old SB system where imperial jade accessories could be melded with mainstat (when we could meld mainstats) and it was better than BIS accessories at the time

Bozja doesn’t matter regardless except for the DRS haste gear

Does that even apply if you have Kirin's Osode or Vermillion Cloak? I'm had assumed that the Elemental Bonus and Haste likely made them second best choice after the Elemental+2 gear...but maybe that's not the case?

Vermillion cloak is better than elemental +2 because of the haste and the fact that it has useable materia slots but like Cassie earring or the speed belt the difference is incredibly negligible
