I will look into the 4070 gpu. I just want to be able to run FFXIV at max.

It also highly depends in which screen resolution you want to play. Is your goal to play the game in UHD/4K then you should consider to buy a RTX 4080/RTX 4090 or a Radeon 7900XTX. A RTX 4070 Ti gets serious trouble in 4K.

    Cheers

Good morning! Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Unfortunately although the concerns you are describing are technical in nature, it does does not appear to be specifically a technical issue. I will go ahead and move this thread to “General Discussion" instead.

Thank you once again for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!

Not sure if 12600K is worth it. Either 12400F for cost-effective or going up to Ryzen 5800X3D (and 7800X3D, latest Intel i7 for bleeding edge performance).

For GPU you can look for sales. RX 6950 XT can be really low and 7900 XT is also dropping to 6950 XT previous prices. That's better than RTX 4070 (although you should check thermals, reviews of given model as those are big GPUs that will generate a lot of heat). RTX 3000 can also see sales.

I apologize if im wrong but this OP feels like a humble brag. People who participate in social media about PC's such as reddit, youtube comments etc. are used to people asking if their ridiculously over priced PC will run Counter Strike or something silly.

"Hey guys, im buying a Lamborghini Diablo SV, do you think it will be good enough to go to the grocery store and back?"

Not really. They're pushing the system requirements up quite a bit with Dawntrail so I think a lot of us are considering new builds and also want to future-proof a bit.

Humble brag? What, someone with limited knowledge about PC components can't ask for advice if whatever overkill things they put together is even worth the investment since they dont know if its too much or not enough? Recently told someone they don't need to break bank buying a 4080 or 90 when a 4070ti will still hit solid numbers for them - building a good PC thats worth its investment is not THAT easy.

Talera also brought a good point with system requirements.
