    Mao only dones little bits PvPs so Mao mights not has best opinion but PvPs seem so one-dimensional because all attack ranges so short. Is reason why ranged classes cut down, in case of BLMs for example, from 40 yalms to 25 yalms? If had proper ranges then maybe PvPs could has more strategys than "who has biggest blob".

    Mao, 25 yalms is the default range of BLM in PvE and PvP both. You might be thinking of WoW or something. It's got Burst, which is short range, sure, but that's not its whole kit, and it has a much more flexible Aetherial Manipulation to compensate.

    Melee actually have an increased default range in PvP to combat latency between player clients, and ranges vary significantly between actions within a single Job's tools. DNC for instance has a much shorter PvP range to reflect its different gameplay, and MCH/WHM want to enter melee range occasionally. But NIN has a reduced max range for certain attacks in PvP as a balancing decision.

    Oops! Mao bad! Mao checked skills. Post is right! For some reason though is feel likes Mao is closer to front lines. Then agains, Mao nots do much PvPs so Mao opinion here probably silly.
