DPS is over populated, change the Jobs so there's equal amount of Tanks, Healers and DPS. /s
Tbh I just skip the issues by speedrunning roulettes with friends.

Everyone and there mother flees data centers at prime time now, if not on aether
I've been noticing a gradual increase in one of the most elusive phenomena: DPS in need.
It's not uncommon for Alliance raids, but it's now becoming a fairly routine occurrence in pretty much every roulette.
I honestly dont consider 10-20 minutes bad. I remember waiting upwards of 4 hours as a DPS in another game.

I am on the same server/DC and have no problem queuing even as dps/whatever role not in need. I never wait for 30 minutes unless I try to queue for something like Rabanastre at 2 am. It’s usually 5-10 mins at most with some insta queues.Hi
Queue as a DPS and you could wait anywhere from 10 - 20 mins, from a world that is "congested." Meanwhile, only Tanks and Healers get perks from running Roulettes, and god forbid you choose a DPS else you will not only be unrewarded, but wait in line for 30 minutes. I have canceled my sub at this point, and its running out soon. This game has a lot of work to do. Stop the glamourized timed sync from 1.0.

It's been like this forever, and I'm ok with the wait. I queue up, I do other things for those 10 minutes and time flies. Either I'm on Netflix or I'm reading something or continuing a story quest. 10 minutes is nothing. Try playing games without a party finder that does it all for you and see how long it takes.
Yeah... the annoying part is those times when you queue as DPS to use the short amount of time you usually have in queue to do something really quick and that's when it decides to insta-pop.It's been like this forever, and I'm ok with the wait. Actually happened to me yesterday in the middle of a cutscene. I was queued for main story roulette so I thought I had more time on my hands.

Yeah, friends make DPS leveling and story queues MUCH less painless since they will go as the tanks/healers thus filling up needed jobs. Weekly Tome grinding is a non issue since Expert pops easily in 5 minutes or less queuing as a DPS.
If you don't have friends or prefer to play solo, well....as others have said, Party Finder works decently well for story trials and dungeons when you do it at server prime time. DPS Leveling roulettes also go quicker Prime time too.
DPS queues really are a crapshoot though, with unexpected quick pops at times. Other times, you can end up watching a full episode of something on Netflix before you will hear the ding.
