Meh. I'd just make the MMO the way I wanted. Then again I also wouldn't chase Yoshi-P's unobtainable dream of making the 1 game for everyone. World of videogames has exploded to a point of there being no shortage of options. I'd rather establish a specific fanbase then find ways to improve the experience of that fanbase rather than cutting out the things that fanbase likes to appease people outside of it like he seems to be doing with both this title and FFXVI (which despite it's strong initial week has apparently fallen below expectations in sales). Ppl are going to piss and moan about a game regardless of what you do. So just make the game YOU want to play. Doing that will generally result in a much higher quality of product that stands a much better chance of growing your fanbase by creating curiosity in people that aren't already a part of it.
