I miss my XI npc.
Hopefully in the future we can customize our Path companion and call them out for some fighting.
Definitely looking forward to chocobos, though!![]()

Got a few more replies then I expected but yes. I do not want the chocobo to be limited in such a way. I am having a tough time deciding which way to train it though. Caster, Healer, Melee DD, Tank. Four choices but... what would be the most effective choice or the most fun. Will they have armor like we do, normal sets available for almost all classes with some made for certain builds. White Mage Chocobo gear, Warrior Chocobo Gear, Ifrit armor sets. Just the ideas that pop into my head drives me insane with impatience.
I don't think it will have a FFXI-stye cooldown. This is Naoki Yoshida content, not Hiromichi Tanaka content. In general, Yoshida lets you do what you want when you want.
I'm hoping we dont have cool down times on our companions. I never used my companion to help me level up I fought monsters to level her up and watch her progress in gaining new skills, change gear, and do skillchains with.
Screw Chocobo, we need Goobbue breeding, barding, racing and fighting.
I hope it's a special job because in a party of 6 people with 6 chocobos that sound just super messy.
A special class/job that would allow to fight with your chocobo and breed them to go quicker, dig stuff, access zone could be cool

In a party of 6 people only 2 can summon their chocobo (6+2=8).
I think they take a party slot so 6 players + 6 chocobos won't be possible.
4 + 4 on the other hand might be.
Even if there was a timer, I don't think I would mind as much as I did in XI.
Firstly, we have chocobo breeding (meaning we can have more than 1 chocobo), unlike our companion where we only have one.
This means that even if there was a cooldown timer, after a while we will be able to switch between chocobos and moreso switch chocobos depending on what we're doing.
Some examples:
If you are a gatherer: you can raise multiple storage chocobos, when one is full you switch to the next.
If you are solo fighting: you can raise a healer for when you do melee and when that runs out you might have a tank choco raised and you can switch to a support class or mage.
TLDR: We can raise multiple chocobos. The cooldown won't be as bad once you have 2+ chocobos.
This is all of course assuming that you can summon any of the chocos you have and not just one.
My fear is that it'll take a full month of adamant tapping enter before finding out a have a plain old yellow chocobo instead of the damned red one that I NEVER get. EVER
When all else fails, Heck the Bed.
Pretty sure they said the Chocobos will count as a party member. Going off this I assume there will not be a cooldown since chocobos will be less ideal than having actual players in the group. Say 4 guys summon their chocos, thats a full 8 man party. But they would be more efficient if the other 4 spots were actually real players. Thus, it probably will not have a cooldown.
