Servers down for no reason?

I was just booted from the game after my latency reached red and was receiving 0ms from the server side.

According to : http://www.ffxivserverstatus.com/ All servers are down. I can't log in, I get an error.

Going red can just as well mean that one of the network nodes between you and the server had a problem. It is by no means a clear indication that the server has gone down.
